MILWAUKEE (AP) — More than 100 police agencies are withdrawing from agreements to send personnel to bolster security at next month’s Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee, in part because they’re concerned about a recent directive ordering police in the city to stop using tear gas to control crowds.
A citizen oversight commission last week directed Milwaukee’s police chief to publicly account for why the department used tear gas during protests in late May and early June after the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis and to change Milwaukee’s police policies to ban the use of tear gas and pepper spray. The Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission said in its order that Police Chief Alfonso Morales could be fired if he fails to comply.
Police agencies pulling out of Democratic convention
Will there be orders issued to the good kids of Antifa to leave the convention alone? Will they obey them? I think it behooves us to mock them and challenge them to go raise shit and prove they are not owned by the Democrats and demand the Revolution.
Morales did not say which agencies would not be coming or how many officers were still expected. The original plan was to have 1,000 officers on hand from outside agencies to assist with security. Morales said utilizing the National Guard or enlisting federal assistance was under consideration.
Damn, imagine if the word would spread that Trump Nazi Troopers would be doing security at the convention. What would the good Antifa boys and girls do? I am sure they would stay home and avoid confrontation. Give peace a chance and all that.
We need pop corn.
I think the threat of Antifa and BLM is a big unvoiced reason that President Trump canceled the RNC Jacksonville Convention. Not just the Chinese Coronavirus.
It just was not worth it. Your old party stalwarts possibly getting sick or injured, crazies attacking everyone and burning down half the business district. The news mediaswine making martyrs out of arsonists and looters. The sick Communists attacking your delegates in their hotels, restaurants, and on the streets.
Will the US DOJ successfully get an injunction against the Milwaukee City Prohibition on Tear Gas and Effective Less Lethal Crowd Control Methods?
Is Milwaukee Wisconsin under Federal Police Supervision by the DOJ? Portland was under an excessive force watch, and that was a big reason the Federal argument against the really, really stupid Portland City Council Ordinance worked.
If you take away the less lethal (none of them are completely non lethal) methods, then the police have to fall back on more forceful and more lethal methods. Next will they take away the shields and riot batons? Maybe? Which pretty much only leaves volley fire and bayonets, which are very effective, but also very lethal.
But given Portland, why would the DOJ want to get such an injunction? That would get in the way of “let it burn baby”.
It will be spectacular when Trump denies their request for federal assistance.
That’s the Catch-22
The Left: “Trump is a Nazi sending his Gestapo to beat up peaceful protesters.”
Also the Left: “Trump is making law enforcement partisan by not sending them to protect Democrats who are under attack.”
Pick the one were less cops will be hurt
I’m all for Trump saying “you called those Leo’s ‘stormtroopers’ and ‘gestapo’ when they were protecting the courthouse in Portland, you can’t rely on them to save you now.”
I want to see what happens when the Antfia Bernie-Bros rush the stage to cancel Biden.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there were casualties on both sides.
“We need popcorn.”
Yes indeed! ROFL
Couldn’t they use their antifa thugs for security?
Couldn’t they use their antifa thugs for security?
Something about hiring foxes to provide security for henhouses comes to mind.
Antifa are pro-Bernie. They don’t want Biden. They won’t protect shit.
So, the people who want to defund the police might have to have a large gathering without support from the police.
Got it. Works for me.
Maybe send the Feds to protect the Federal court house, other Federal properties. Only.
