Of course this is not to say that you should go to wherever a riot is happening and do stupid stuff, but the idea that “peaceful protesters” will confine themselves to an specific area has been pretty much killed and buried by recent events.

This was Eugene, Oregon last night. The protesters left whatever centric/commercial area they gathered and moved to a residential area chanting different slogans (“Out of your house and into the streets” ) shinning lights on homes’ windows banging drums, playing loud electronic noises and just being annoying assholes.

Short of being rightfully attacked inside you home, there is little we can do to deal with these idiots that won’t end with spending time in jail. If you are living in a jurisdiction that allows Antifa/BLM destroy the peace and quiet of citizens, chances are that if you show up at your front door armed, you will be going to be arrested for brandishing or worse. No law for them and all the laws against us, don’t forget that.

So what to do? Be grey/dark. Do not do anything that attracts undue attention. They are seeking a reaction so they can log it in video and share with their comrades. They want bragging rights that they screwed up with a Fash/Nazi, your pissed off face and general destruction of your property are the trophy antlers that will go in the wall of their dens. Keep your lights out at night and keep your butt inside the house.

“But they are in my front lawn! They are stomping on the petunias and spray painting my wall!”  And what are you going to do? Shoot them? How easy will a D.A. will be to convince a jury that you are a menace because you murdered poor Jose Jamal Odinson, a nice kid who was starting to turn his life around and you, the evil White Supremacist, killed him? Flowers can be replanted, and Home Depot carries a long palette of exterior paints.

This is where a surveillance camera comes in handy, preferably hidden so the “peaceful protesters” don’t mess with it. Bird house or squirrel feeder or any or the many things that people use to decorate a garden can be used to keep track of what is going on outside.  You can be on the phone with 911 call being recorded and it is evidence) explaining what is going on and giving a full description (Cops love video evidence) of the actions and the people.

(IANAL WARNING)

And if a sudden attack of stupid should happen to affect our peaceful protesters and decided to break windows, torn down doors trying to gain access to your home, well you can see exactly what is going on, describe to 911 what is going on. And then you can act with deadly force if necessary but only if you are doing so within the confines of the law of your state. In situations like this,  the expression “prepare to repel boarders!” comes to mind for some reason.

Never forget that one simple video will neutralize the words of 1,000 “witnesses” in court.   There is nothing much you can do about the Social Media Narrative once it is established, but it beats wearing orange  from 20 years to life.

    1. Wanna know why this sit doesn’t go on in Texas? Maybe you could recommend something like this in your state.
Sec. 9.42. DEADLY FORCE TO PROTECT PROPERTY. A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:

      (1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41; and

      (2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:

      (A) to prevent the other’s imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or

      (B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and

      (3) he reasonably believes that:

      (A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or

      (B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.

Graffi is defined as “criminal mischief” and yes, people have been to court after shooting a graffti artist and found not guilty. The drum banging and other disturbance of the peace aren’t covered, but Graftti and theft are.

      1. Which personally I think is crap. Now I don’t think you should be able to shoot at anyone who happens to be playing their stereo too loud in the streets, this whole business with people harassing and disturbing people intentionally needs to stop, and people need to have some sort of recourse to make it stop. People have jobs they need to get to, children need to sleep to be healthy. They are traumatizing and terrorizing thousands of little kids who don’t understand why angry mobs are marching around in the streets being loud and angry and profane. What’s even worse is cases where the mob singles out a single person’s house and targets that person for harassment and intimidation. This is absolutely illegal and morally deplorable. It’s the equivalent of a band of townspeople going and surrounding the house of the unwelcome local gay man, and shouting threats and playing loud, harassing music targeting the person inside the house. It’s a form of lynch mob. The left thinks it’s okay because their targets are “only racists”, but that’s not how it works. The law applies to EVERYONE, you don’t get to say “except this guy, because we as a group have decided he’s a bad guy and we don’t like him or want him around”. It was bad enough when they were going and harassing politicians and local officials at their private homes (which has long been considered a no-no, as a violation of their personal, as opposed to official character. It’s even worse, because the police cannot or will not do anything to protect you, no one will be charged over it, and you are not allowed to do anything yourself to discourage them. No, you must sit and cower and listen to their insults and hope they get sick of it. If they insist on coming back and doing it again and again, then your only option is to cave in and leave. So we’re allowing people to basically drive unpopular people out of town with harassment. The decided this was illegal and a violation of personal rights more than a 100 years ago. These same tactics were popular in most European communities right up until the late 19th century. The called it a skimington ride, or “charivari” (or “chivaree”), and it is how a majority (or vocal minority) manages to force conformity, to silence any who oppose them or behave in a way they dislike. It’s literally a form of lynching, not even vigilantism. Vigilantism involves enforcing the law by public action, whereas this is merely the punishment of those who dare think or act in a way that the mob disapproves of. Are you an adultress? Drive her out! A gay? Get rid of him! An undesirable? A freethinker? a supporter of an unpopular political party? Silence the unbeliever! Drive them away! Cancel culture was bad enough without mobs targeting private individuals for harassment and intimidation, without anyone trying to stop them.

        1. What the fuck are you talking about asshole? I specifically said “disturbing the peace” was NOT a shooting offense. Please fuck off and ide.

  1. Yeah. So there weren’t any riots in Eugene last night. You know how I know?

    One, nothing…zero, on Google.

Two, if you look at the upper left corner of the video as it appears on your website, it says “Kenosha, WI”

This site is becoming more and more like the fake news you guys scream about every day.

    Do better.

    1. You do better.

You’re going off the still frame YouTube or the poster of the video chose — which IS footage from Kenosha, true. The rest of the video is not.

        1. Well, this is a surprising development.

This blog is relying a “left wing live streamer” for their news when it fits their narrative even when not a single traditional news outlet covers these “riots.” And not any left wing live streamer but a left wing live streamer who teases his video with a photo from riots from another city and another date.

Fact of the matter is you don’t care how accurate your news or images are. You don’t care whether it actually ever happened. You don’t even care where it came from. What you care most about is that it feeds into your narrative.

I’ll apologize when you can come up with one traditional news source that covered “riots in Eugene last night.” I’ll even take Fox or OANN. Newsmax, Breitbart and Judical Watch are non-players.

          Go!

          1. Hey, Miguel, is there any way for a reader to hide or minimize an individual’s comments via WordPress or something?

I am not a paragon of civility much of the time myself, and I’m not asking you to block someone; but I really don’t care to waste time reading posts from consistently rude commenters.

            1. This is how the left operates:
              1 Demand proof
2 Once proof is provided, deny its accuracy and demand other proof.
3 Once that is provided, move the goalposts yet again
4 Then call the other side names.

    2. First, these guys found a video that claims to be of protests in Eugene, Oregon. They didn’t make the video, they just shared it. Why would they check it out? Why would someone lie and say it was Eugene, Oregon when it was actually Kenosha? Why should these bloggers EXPECT someone to lie about that?
Second, the screen that says “Kenosha” is just a thumbnail screen. It doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the video. Someone thought a photo of flames would attract more viewers than a blurry shot of people standing in a dark street. So they used a shot taken in Kenosha for the thumbnail. That does not mean that video itself is taken there.
Fourth. Oh, if GOOGLE doesn’t say there were protests in Eugene last night, then certainly it never happened. Say no more. If you can’t trust Google, who can you trust, right?
Last, does it really MATTER? This happened SOMEWHERE in the United States, in a suburb. Doesn’t matter if it’s Kenosha or Eugene. The only reason I could imagine that someone would lie about something like that is because they think it will advance their favorite narrative better to have people thinking that the riots are expanding. For my part I am more inclined to believe the guy who filmed and uploaded the video, who says it is Oregon, than the fact that the All Seeing Google didn’t mention it. Maybe Google doesn’t want you to hear about it. Maybe the reporters didn’t cover it, either because it doesn’t seem like big enough news any more, or because they also don’t want people to think things are getting worse. Maybe it was only reported on local news affiliates.
The last person to blame is the guys posting the blog. They are not journalists, they don’t make any pretense at being journalists. It’s not their duty to carefully fact check and verify every interesting video they see fit to share. They are just guys who right about whatever gun related interesting stuff that comes to hand. They can be wrong sometimes, but that does not make “fake news”. Fake news is news that is WILLFULLY distorted, and by people whose professional code of conduct ought to dictate otherwise.

  2. You forget that pretty soon them breaking down your door to break into your home will be legal for them. If it isn’t already in certain places. That after they break into your home and enter it with the intention of looting your home and bringing your physical harm if you shoot them not only is that not considered self defense because it is antifa but they will not be prosecuted if they survive and you will be going to jail with all your guns confiscated.

At this point they could start breaking into people’s homes, loot them, beat them to death, murder your entire family and then burn down your home they will not be prosecuted. After all in a few months it will be legal for antifa to do that. Antifa going door to door to murder every man woman and child in suburban neighborhood will not only be legal but opposing it will be illegal. So let’s say antifa goes to a white suburban neighborhood in Oregon. They then break into every home, Kill every single person in that neighborhood; several hundred if not several thousand people. Loot those homes, burn every single house down. I’m talking no one left alive and no property left burn down. Not only is that going to be not prosecuted, no one will be arrested and the government will defend that. And any of the homeowners that managed to survive because they shot back will be arrested and sent to prison so the mob can come back and finish the job on there family.

Antifa going door to door to loot homes and murdering people is fully legal for them and all but actual written law. And these people WILL
    be re-elected.

    1. “You forget that pretty soon them breaking down your door to break into your home will be legal for them.”
If that happens, then we will go to history and the ways our forefathers used to remove Socialism for good.

    1. Arson of an occupied structure is of course attempted murder, so in any civilized location deadly force may be used against that. In NH, arson of “premises” can be met by deadly force independent of whether they are occupied or not, as far as I can tell from the plain English wording of the law.

  3. You can order some pepper spray grenades like these.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005KW5NIW

I have a couple. My plan: toss out inert smoke as a warning, if possible. Then toss pepper spray grenade. I have gas masks.

Also keep in mind (Florida- your state may vary):

Forcible felony, according to 776.08, includes arson, aggravated assault, and the unlawful throwing, placing, or discharging a destructive device or bomb, and any other felony that involves the use or threat of force.

Throwing a Molotov cocktail is arson, which is a forcible felony.

A Molotov cocktail is also considered to be a destructive device under 790.001.Throwing one is a forcible felony

Participating in a riot whereby the participants are forcibly and violently attempting to destroy any building is a forcible felony under 870.03.

Throwing stones and rocks into an occupied structure is a forcible felony under 790.19.

A person who is occupying a vehicle that is forcibly and unlawfully being entered is presumed to be in reasonable fear for his life under 776.013.

Even vandalism is a felony if the damages are more than $1,000. For the purposes of that law, all of the damages done by all of the members of that crowd as long as it was all damaged during the same course of conduct. So using or threatening force while committing the violence of vandalism that does more than $1,000 in damages is a forcible felony.
