Excellent movie that could not be made today.
I forgot that John Hurt played Jesus.
I liked him before this movie, but he raised more brownie points for being a serious actor taking a cameo in a Mel Brooks movie and specifically being Jesus.
By then he had Elephant Man and Midnight Express on his resume and both movies landed him Oscar Nominations.
