One solid regurgitation of cliches and stolen ideas. Good guy is an intellectual driven to firearms because of the Aliens. Head Militia Honcho is a heartless Mike Foxtrot. Alien implants on humans (Kids to add to the “aww!” effect.) Sweet female doctor as champion of the oppressed by the Militia Civilians. Bad Human guy with a Southern Accent. Pancho Villa belted ammo bandoleers wore but no belt fed weapon in sight. Pooch faces second cousin of Robocop’s ED-209 enforcement droid and survives as usual.
And do not get me started on weapon’s usage. The initial scene where Noah Wiley is running with an obvious plastic AK shut down any hope I had for the series.
I agree with all but one of your comments. The only belt-fed I saw other than the Ma Deuce would have been the M249. Course, the guy carrying it got killed without getting a shot off fighting the outlaws in the armory, IIRC.
Before they got caught by the Bad Guy, the two young ones were wearing the belts .
Moving in the day… and at night… with no regard for cover, tracks, heat signatures, or anything else. Spreading 200 people over a gorramed square mile, and then saying that they could not be barracked in homes lest they need to leave in a hurry. Sensors home in on tiny-arsed road flares, but ignore the humans and engine block around them. Idiotic delineation between “soldier” and “civilian” (here is a hint: THE WORLD HAS BEEN INVADED… everyone who can hold a firearm is a “soldier”).
Yeah. I might keep watching, but only because nothing else is on at the moment.
