I just spent an hour and a half watching the Judiciary committee of the Florida Senate and I am guessing they did not want to miss Happy Hour at the nearby watering hole because they postponed the hearing of the bill and left in a hurry.

One “good” thing is that this version of the bill does not have the “third time you go to jail” proviso but just keeps it a $25 administrative fine. That may explain why Moms Demand is throwing hissy fits and calling it an Open Carry bill. A Constitutional Right does not need a fee to exercise nor should be issue a fine.

I fear we are not even getting crumbs this year.

  1. Did you ever notice the members are from the same general area of the state? Not a single one is from north of Orlando or west of the Apalachicola. Republican or Democrat. Just saying.
