J. Kb.’s post reminded me I had not checked lately where do we stand in Florida lately about permits. Since June of this year, we have added 40,832 new licenses.
This ws the count that came out in June, 2019.
Till September 2019.
It is about 10 thousand a month, so maybe we get another 30K to the count for the year.
Not too shabby.
Does the state break out the amount of money it takes in from the concealed carry license infrastructure? Does it break even?
I wonder if losing the revenue would be a factor in trying to get HB273 passed or if they operated at a loss if the would matter.
I guess the amounts would be in some publicly available site, but I have no idea where.
As for breaking even? More than that. I seem to vaguely recall some 10 years ago the there were millions in the account and they were going to be used to upgrade the computer system and equip the regional offices with all the goodies. The monies collected from CWL do not go to the public chest nor can be used for anything other than CWL issues.
UPDATE: $90 million according to Nikki Fried
