Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. Heh. I think my first tacticool gun will still be an AR though, so the SPORTS drill will be drilled and drilled and drilled and drilled until its second nature.

Then again I got used to the heft of the M16A2 from ROTC so a full size rifle and not a carbine is right for me.

  2. That’ll be awhile. I want to save up for an Enfield or some other bolt gun. There’s the appeal of WWII weaponry for me.

  3. […] Miguel has a graphic reminder that it’s not a perfect platform. However, I’d note the AK-47 has the ergonomics you’d expect from a rifle fielded by a brutal communist regime. One reason I prefer the AR platform is the ergonomics is just a lot better. Think about changing a magazine on an AR and an AK, and you’ll see what I mean. I can shoot my AR all day and enjoy it. I’ve just never felt the same way about the AK platform, and I have both an AK-47 patterned rifle and an AK-74 patterned rifle. […]

  4. For the AK

Fidget with the magazine to make sure its seated correctly

Rack the charging handle to chamber a new round

Remember the AK bolt does not stay back on an empty mag

Check to see if the magazine is loaded.

    Squeeze the trigger

    1. Incorrect, The J.

      For the AK:

Load magazine and rack the charging handle

Squeeze trigger about 30 times or so.

If it stops shooting, go back to step one.
