The post “DeSantis did not shoot across the bow of Antifa/BLM, he dropped a tactical nuke.” has gone viral.  AWA sent a note about the server’s behavior.

On the 21st of September, our pearless leader made a post that was picked up on facebook such that it got a little more visibility than normal.  How much?

Yep, that is really a nearly 20 fold increase in visitors and hits on the website.
Once he noticed this he immediately contacted us to make sure we were prepared for the load.
The response? Huh?  What load?
The site/server monitoring software did not notice any load change.  It is still happily idling along.
Because of the higher visibility, we took a more careful look at the logs and found the normal used toilet paper (ass wipes).  People that attempt to break into the system through brute force.  We adjusted our filters and they just dropped away.  Even without the filters, the system didn’t notice.

None of the dread 500 errors.  No slow downs.

Happiness is a warm CPU.

I know, he is laying it thick with the “peerless” thing, but he is waiting for the check to go through 😀

All kidding aside, this has been the smoothest transition/migration the blog’s had and the sucker is also faster as hell.

Some people like Steven R. are still experiencing some issues and AWA has been taking care of it which is a reminder: if you are having problems, please let us know.

And once again, THANK YOU to all the donors that helped us get a much better home. Hell, it feels like a Coral Gables penthouse without the money laundering investigations.

And I have to remind you once again that f you need a site or move from the one you have, Troglodite LLC is AWA’s company and you can get the contact info over the column on your right.

Spread the love

Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. I occasionally get the “You’re looking at the wrong server, clear your DNS Cache” page, but only occasionally and only on my home network. I run some weird stuff here so I think it’s just me.

  2. Looking good; nary a sign of the 500 error accompanied by a persistent Goofy Gator icon as used to happen so often.
I’ve been happy with Linode as a virtual-server provider, and it sounds like your troglodite is doing a fine job managing the software configuration and operations. If it means you can spend less time swearing at your hosting company and more time swearing at politicians, I’d call that a win!
