On the other hand, if he gets so much as a single person interested in it, the anti-gun folks will get millions of miles of coverage about how “sick” the “gun culture” is.

I think it was in poor taste. I wouldn’t be surprised that if the auction had gone on, an anti-gunner would have bought it in order to destroy it — which really wouldn’t be any loss.
