I think these idiots thing everything outside the US looks like an outside Parisian cafe in the fall sitting with Pierre, the French lover or a sleepy village in the mountains of Latin America where the children bring you coffee and pastries and they all know British English.
Shows how effective our “education” system is. Amazing how autos and alcohol kill FAR more than firearms and its “meh so what”. You cant fix stupid. All We the People can do is prepare.
There’s also:
-get some acid (splashed on your face) in East End London
-tour the “no go” areas of Paris and Berlin, and have a cultural experience
-rock (and other improvised weapons) parties with “gangs of youths” in Sydney
-dodge homeless junkies, feces, and needles in Vancouver
Seriously, if these people have traveled at all, it’s quick tours to the “nice part” of places. Places where people with guns keep the beggars and real criminals away from the tourist.
But most of these idiots are going off of what they’ve seen on TV or read on the internet.
I think of Paris and London are now truly “international cities” where you are likely to get stabbed, have acid thrown in your face, or see someone shitting on the street.
Well, J, that IS how you define a very cosmopolitan experience, oui?
“We had wine at Chateau Rousse where we watched a local gang rape a ten year old from the windows, and made it to the No Go Zone in time to watch the Feces Pelting of the Caravan! The locals are SO colorful!”
Belize. They have “ghetto gates” made of no shit rebar. Totally and far beyond ANYTHING I have seen in Detroit.
Then, there is Rome, with factory looking steel shutters on apartment buildings. Up to the fifth story.
So, indeed, let us learn from our world neighbors. Like, what a life with disarmed citizens can look like.
Conversely it seems all of Europe believes the USA is a cross between post-Katrina New Orleans and Tombstone.
I have no problem… that means they will stay there
Larry: Are you saying that, just as if it was a BAD thing?
GREAT pics, kudos to Miguel!!!!! Don’t know WHY he was blocked – must be some glitch!! And yeah, I am an OG and it both amuses and mildly nauseates me to read the wisdom of these snowflake ‘globetrotters’ sharing with the rest of us, the marvels of the kumbayah universe. I have been in places where a man would cut your throat for your boots, where life means nothing. And I remember those two imbeciles who were bicycling through- I think it was Iran- to show how peaceful and loving the whole world is if you just open your hearts. IIRC, they were beheaded, after the girl was raped. But hey, they made their point. Kumbayah, mutha…..
Hmm, wasn’t there a peace loving US couple on a bicycle tour to promote peace and harmony to the rest of the world that got brutally murdered and dismembered not too long ago?
No thanks – I’ve seen a bit of the world so I’ll stay where it is (relatively) safe – and I can at least legally protect myself.
