The Democrats in Tallahassee with the aid of The League of Women Voters have  have fought the last couple of years for allowing Floridians with Concealed Weapons Licenses to carry in houses of prayer that share property with a school.  As covered here many times, if you are a Catholic and want to attend Mass, you are likely to find yourself with very limited choices as it seems every single Catholic church comes with a school attached.

Then saw this in Facebook early this morning:

Where is that going to be located again?

And guess what is in the same property?

And a Google Street View

Notice the entrance of the church with a school buss parked in front and children waking by.

So I asked:

It has been three hours and no reply from Miramar PD.

If I get an answer, I will let you know.

UPDATE: The question was answered sometime around noonish.

Indeed.

Now there is a question that begs answer: Can somebody with a concealed weapons license carry in school during this event?

I believe I am not gonna find out.

  1. Not overly generous on the payouts, either.

And, what, long-range sniper weapons (aka Grandpa’s bolt action deer rifle) are perfectly fine?

  2. C’mon, man. It’s for a good cause. [Cue: angelic chorus] They’re on the right side of history. It gets evil illegal guns of war off of the streets!

(Translation: We can break any laws that we want. F U.)

  3. Ten bucks at home depot, an hour with a saber saw, a piece of pipe and a few screws and voila a zip gun worth $100, doesn’t even have to work. Not a bad ROI.

  4. oooooh… Might have to make a couple slam-fire 12 gauges and take a drive Saturday… 3 of them would be well worth the drive

  5. “… or within 1,000 feet of ….”
So don’t drive by the school while you are carrying? Or drive on the grounds to pick up your kids?

  6. What about the federal gun free zone school act if you didn’t have a concealed license? I don’t think it has an exemption for buybacks…

Also, does FL require a background check through an FFL for the cop(s) you and others are handing the firearm to?
