Where a Hispanic Catholic, and a Computer Geek write about Gun Rights, Self Defense and whatever else we can think about.
Interesting numbers there.
Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

Those numbers make the Bloomberg/Watts idiots drool on themselves. Especially the stats for women shooters. Don’t they know they are supposed to be good victims? They are always spouting “give them what they want”, but they can’t answer the question “what if what they want is your life?”.
It would be interesting to see how many of these new shooters go on to get a carry permit and take responsibility for their own safety. I read the other day that we are approaching 13 million carry permit holders in this country, not including the states that allow “Constitutional carry”.
I’d like to add the question(s):
Has a favorable view of AR-15/MSR style rifles.
Has an interest in supressors, SBR/SBS, NFA item.
That woukd really blow some minds. Gun 2.0 is in many ways the anti Fudd movement. We/they are much more about fun range toys and self defense than deer stalking, and our choice in guns reflects that
The biggest victory ever won for the Second Amendment was the advance of shall-issue CCW laws. Before that, guns were scary and strange and gun-rights advocates could be dismissed as ‘creepy white rednecks’ and there was a lot of social pressure against the issue based on that perception. Once CCW became a going issue, that perception broke on the reality that it wasn’t ‘those people over there’ who owned guns: it was your brother, your sister, the guy you sit next to in church or who drives your kid to Little League practice. Gun owners were “Us” instead of “Them”. What you’re seeing right now- the ‘new shooters’, the fact that even with bloody shirt after bloody shirt to wave the gun-grabbers can’t get traction- comes from that.
Why do you think Florida is so hated by the Antis? The “crap” got started here and we did not help with Stand Your Ground. Almost 30 years after passing the law and all the predictions streets awash in blood because CWPs would be shooting everywhere never came to happen and the Antis’ moral shield disappeared.
However, the anti’s have found a way to cook the stat books to make the places with restrictive gun laws look safer than the free states. It’s easy, just add “police shoot bad guys” and “good guys shoot bad guys” to your metric of “gun death”, and you too can make Washington DC and Illinois look far safer than Vermont.
Not unusual… when Canada was organizing its big gun control push in the ’80s, the RCMP produced some absolutely amazing statistics on “firearms involvement in crime”.
Turns out that the field officers were under orders to record… not any crime where a gun was used, not any crime where a gun was involved, but any crime where a gun was PRESENT as a “gun crime”. Bad guy had a gun? Ding- gun crime. Good guy had a gun, legally? Ding, gun crime. Punch-up happened in a bar with a shotgun under the cash register, even though it was never pulled out of its hiding place? Ding- gun crime. Parked your wife’s car on the street and it got hit-and-run when you weren’t home, and you had a .38 revolver in your desk drawer? Ding-gun crime…
