We carry and our objective is to go to sleep in our own beds by the end of the day. This is a too, not the only one, but beats ignorance.

PS: Never forget that cops just arrived to the scene of a shooting and they do not know you are the good guy.

Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. Good points. One thing that I have in the back of my mind is that having mobility issues, I may not be physically able to play “Simon Says. Death Match Edition” with the agility or speed demanded by the nice officer. My default would tend to be gun on the floor, hands up and remain in that position, while calmly and slowly explaining why I can’t comply. Yeah, there is a risk that the responding officer goes all Barney Fife on your ass.

    1. With my bad back, that’s my fear. There are positions if I try to get into (like onto my knees without my hands) I’m going to fall over and be crippled.

  2. Everything this guy said was right. Especially about the Mesa shooting being a bad (but legal) shoot. I have written two posts (that I can think of) about people being killed because of bad or conflicting commands.

I know it won’t help those already dead, but this is one of the reasons why qualified immunity needs to be done away with and this sort of thing made criminal.

Two cops yelling contradictory orders at you, then the one you don’t listen to shoots you is a setup for murder.
