President Obama said Thursday that the Affordable Care Act is working, but he acknowledged that “growing pains” are causing some Americans to be hurt by escalating insurance prices in marketplaces created under the law.

Maybe if you define growing pains as as prison gang rape.

  1. Holy F’in $#*+!!! I thought it was bad the first year of O’care when I got hit for an additional $77 a month. This is amazingly evil on so many levels. Both of those numbers are house payments! How much more income can be stolen by the government under the guise of “paying your fair share” before working class people go Galt?

      1. If you’re old, you’re better off paying the penalty, going into debt then declaring bankruptcy.

Of course it was all designed to fail to get socialized healthcare VA style.

      2. Better off still to rework your ‘withholding’ so you get no refund, since the *ONLY* way the IRS (hawock-PTUI!) can collect the ‘tax’ is to take it out of any refund you are due. (One of the few poison pill the repubs were able to sneak in to the bill).

No return due? Well then… no way for the fed to make you pay the not-a-penalty ‘tax’.

Added bonus: you stop giving those rat bastards an interest free loan on your withholdings. If you want the .Gov to spend less money, give them less money to spend!

  2. Let’s be honest here.
The ACA/Obamacare IS working. It is working perfectly.

What everyone seems to forget is that the intent of this steaming pile of dung was to destroy the existing insurance industry, and move to single payer/government run healthcare.

And, Obamacare is doing exactly that.
More and more people are going to drop their insurance, and more and more insurance companies will drop out of the exchanges.

The Government (and by this I mean the “progressives”) will use that fact to push for a “public option” insurance company along the lines of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. And, look at what those two quasi-government companies did to the real estate market. Heck, two of the four mortgages I have held were sold to them before I even closed on the house.

As soon as they get their public option (backed by taxpayers of course), no insurance company will be able to compete. Net result, nearly 100% of those seeking health insurance will go to the public option.

Then, the “progressives” will decide to just cut out the middle man, and we are at single payer. From there, a short step to nationalized healthcare.

  3. HOW are is this being dishonest? That is always the question.

The simple answer is that for people who don’t read it, they see that the Blue Cross coverage goes from $711 to $1872.

For the educated, it says that Blue Cross is no longer participating in Obamacare in that state (“isn’t a marketplace plan”), so people would have to pick another insurance company, which, THANKS TO OBAMACARE, will charge somewhere in the $700 range instead of the $1800 range.

In other words, it proves that Obamacare is saving this person $1,000 a month for a family plan.

Republicans evidently couldn’t figure this out.

It’s also a hoaxs, unless Blue Cross now writes sentences that say, “we won’t offer in your area the health insurance coverage that you currently have”, because I’m sure they send thousands of letters with a embarrassingly awkward sentence.

    1. Well there’s some tortured logic. From the AP:

“In some states, the premium increases are striking. In Arizona, unsubsidized premiums for a hypothetical 27-year-old buying a benchmark “second-lowest cost silver plan” will jump by 116 percent, from $196 to $422, according to the administration report.”
