Omar calls for UN to handle migration crisis at the southern border
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., told a Minneapolis audience this week that the United Nations should be brought in to oversee the migration crisis at the southern border.
“We should do what any other country does, by dealing with this situation in a serious way,” she told the audience on Tuesday. “So we have to bring in the United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees – an agency that has the expertise and the training to handle massive flows of refugees humanely.”

Just out of curiosity, what world does Ilhan Omar live in?
Does she really believe that the UN is “an agency that has the expertise and the training to handle massive flows of refugees humanely?”
Because I don’t think that is accurate.
Remember that it is UN Peacekeepers, the famed Blue Helmets that maintain the refugee camps.
A short search of the kinds of shit they get up to in refugee camps is pretty awful. UN Peacekeepers and civilians have committed a huge number of rapes of refugees, and because of international law, they cannot be punished for rape by the country they are serving in.
Ilhan Omar complains about the conditions South American migrant children are kept in at US detention facilities, so she wants to bring in the same UN that was responsible for mass child rape are refugee centers in Africa. That wasn’t an isolated event. Multiple refugee camps across Africa in different conflicts had an epidemic of UN Peacekeeper child rape.
There is nothing the UN is capable of doing humanly. When sent to Haiti after a natural disaster, UN Peacekeepers and civilians hoarded food and medical supplies and traded them for sex.
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar really wants me to believe that the only way for the United States to regain the moral high ground over African nations is to let the corrupt, child-raping Blue Helmets take over the detention centers on our southern border.
No member of the US Congress should ever invite the UN to police this nation and erode our sovereignty, but she did.
This is truly disgusting. Not just does she demonstrate incredible ignorance of just how terrible the UN is, she clearly has the radical Left-Wing mindset that values the unaccountable bureaucracy of the UN over the United States.
Bringing in the UN to police the US precisely matches the Constitutional definition of treason.
It is not ignorance, it is bias against the US.
In her world, the US is just plain evil. And, anything is better.
Rep. Omar: The agreement requires those who arrive through Guatemala to seek asylum in Guatemala first. For years Guatemala itself has been stricken by violence, poverty, and corruption, which has pushed thousands of its people to flee it and come to our border.
That’s a subtle but significant misstatement of “the agreement”.
Refugees seeking asylum are required to seek asylumn in the first “safe” country they arrive in. If they are coming from Honduras or El Salvador or further south, they must pass through Guatemala.
According to the U.N., Guatemala is a “safe” country, so refugees must seek asylumn there first before coming here.
But as a thought experiment, let’s say Rep. Omar is correct and Guatemala is not “safe”, and refugees can bypass it and remain within the bounds of the agreement.
Last time I checked, the United States does not share a border with Guatemala; ergo, they can’t simply “flee it and come to our border”. At best, in between “flee[ing] it” and “com[ing] to our border,” they must pass through the entirety of Mexico.
Mexico is a “safe” country. According to “the agreement”, refugees seeking asylum are required to seek asylum there first.
They are not doing so. They’re bypassing a safe country to come here. They are not abiding by the agreement, and so they are not subject to the agreement’s protections.

Really? Is that what all the European countries did when African migrants started invading in droves? Did those countries call the U.N.?
Or did they call the E.U. and get told to open their borders and accept all comers? (Or another possibility, did the U.N. tell them, either directly or through the E.U., to open their borders?)
Either way, the U.N. is the same organization whose paramilitary forces have committed some of the worst extortion, civil rights abuses, and downright violence (up to and including human trafficking, rape, and murder) in the history of the modern world, and historically has been absolutely terrible about holding those responsible accountable.
And this is the group Rep. Omar wants to call to handle our southern border “humanely”, to regain the “moral high ground”. Okay, then.
She must have a very different definition of the terms “humanely” and “moral high ground” than I do.
I think it’s a swell idea. The UN has fixed every problem it’s ever tackled! There’s no more strife in the Middle East or the Balkans or Africa thanks to their tireless efforts! And the UN isn’t corrupt at all! All those underage Congolese girls wanted it! The UN is the wave of the future! (Did I mention there’s no corruption at the UN?) If he UN takes over the border, it can add luster to its sterling win-loss record of 0 and about 2 million! I say, bring it on!

Don’t forget the wonderful hygeine practices of the UN Peacekeepers. Pakistanis brought a very virulent strain of Cholera to Haiti. How many Haitians did they sicken and kill?

If the “Peacekeepers” are allowed to set foot on US soil then blue helmets would be the hot ticket trophy item of every true American. And if they only tried to operate on the Mexican side of the border then I’d just sit back with some popcorn and watch the UN get royally screwed by the Cartels. Plus we’d then have at least one, irrefutable, document as evidence of blatant treason by every single politician who had signed and delivered said “authorization”.
