I was reviewing the latest tracks and wind predictions for Dorian and I know I am going to get hit with Hurricane-Speed winds.
It seems the center lands well away from us down here, but we are going to be still 50-70 miles for which a tornado is just a mention in the news up north, but with a hurricane means you are in the crap, just not full power. Hurricanes re just too big not to get tagged.
And the estimated winds are not making me a happy human:
A Category 4 denotes winds of 130 to 156 mph or “I am gonna rip your roof off” winds. The sudden drop in the graphic corresponds to the moment the hurricane’s center hit land and starts losing strength, which according to the predictions/guesses is going to take 12 to 14 hours to occur. And during that time ALL MODELS predict a turn north so Darien will become God’s Roomba and screw with Central Florida. You may want to invest in Orange Juice Futures.

Naturally, I’m watching it, too. It sucks that for things to get better for me, they’re getting worse for you, but that’s the case with all of these storms. I still have family in the Boca Raton area that are going to get hit with this MoFo, too.
The trend in the models has been pushing it a little farther south. The point of landfall may not be done moving south.
OTOH, it’s a small storm and the worst winds are only a few miles thick in the eyewall. If you’re not right under the eye on the north side of it, it shouldn’t be that bad.

It’s getting cray-cray out there. Yesterday all the gas stations ’round my neck of the woods were packed to the gills, supermarkets out of water, and most people are behaving worse than an infected cyst on satan’s asshole (although there are a few exceptions, they’re sadly a minority) while meandering around in a hurry to get the supplies they should have had ready when hurricane season started.
Ugh… I miss the 80’s & 90’s, when a neighborhood would band together when storms like this one headed our way.
Now? Too many selfish yankee millennial & progtard transplants moved here & are quickly turning the state into a shithole. :-/
