We went over the In-laws to do some shooting practice for permit class.  I thought I brought all we needed but actually I forgot one little thing: The effing targets.

So after searching the inside of the truck, I only found a roll of paper towels and an old paper bag. So I McGyvered it.

No, I actually targeted the ones in the right. Last shooting of the day out of a Remington R51
If it looks stupid but works, it ain’t stupid. Bounty held pretty good all things considered.

And I have to behave, the missus was grouping them holes about a dollar size.

PS: The In-laws’ land has a nice 100 yard “lane”  with a decent backstop. I am so gonna abuse the crap out of them. Buying a couple of gongs next week.

  1. Walmart up here has 501(or whatever the heck they are) armor roundels 20-35$$ or so. I hit the dollar store for S hooks…. Nice shootin, paper plates work good too..

    1. In the NRA Basic class I took, paper plates were mentioned as targets — for one thing, because they are about the size of the accuracy standard for that course.

  2. if you’ve ever shot IDPA, USPSA, 3Gun, there is no way in hell to fail the handgun of the TN live fire portion of carry license.

  3. “…Remington R51”

    New version or the original?

Private 100 yard range, I so “hate” you right now.

    1. The version that works? LOL. It is a bit ammo sensitive as in it does not like some of my reloads, probably I was not strict with my resizing and I had a couple of partial ejections, almost stovepipes.
