Yeah, I have a feeling all help is going to break loose.
At least they have us a warning this time.
Where a Hispanic Catholic, and a Computer Geek write about Gun Rights, Self Defense and whatever else we can think about.

The whole frickin’ jury selection is marred by tampering. As in, jurors don’t want their families tampered with if they come out with the “wrong” decision. Sad.
The judge allowed several prospective juries to leave because they said they would be afraid for their lives if they happened to find Chauvin innocent.
And like sports team wins, the cities will burn in celebration if he IS convicted. Kamala won’t even bother waking China Joe, and nothing will be done.
Um, long past time to be buying ammo. Hunting (sniper) rounds are $3-$5 EACH. 556 and white box 9mm is $1/rnd or more. Premium defensive rounds are far more. AK ammo is 50c-80c /rnd steel cased. Hell, steel cased hangun rounds of any size were $1 last week in several local auctions. Freakin’ 12ga was going for $1/round, but that might have been auction mania.
COPS can’t get ammo to do their yearly qualification tests.
Guns are expensive and getting scarce.
For the time being, mags are available and at pre-COVID prices.
I’d say your best bet right now is body armor. It’s not selling at a premium yet, and is still legal. It’s a good place to spend your ‘gun stuff’ money.
If you AREN’T already able to load a few dozen mags for your defensive rifle and handguns, keep searching and expect to pay crazy high prices, but get yourself armed up. The stuff isn’t getting cheaper or more available.
And don’t just do a quick web search and then say “why would you pay $400 for a 770? There are dozens of listings for $290 online….” Click thru and see that NONE of those are actually available for sale. Same goes for ammo. If you haven’t tried to actually buy some lately, you have no idea and a quick search and indignation isn’t enough to bring you up to speed. *(generic ‘you’)*
Stuff does become available, but it goes quickly. Sign up for a couple of daily email lists. PSA and GrabAGun are good about sending out notices…
Do whatever it takes, but get some, and when you have some work on getting more.

If you (generic you) didn’t already have an adequate supply on hand, you haven’t been paying attention for the last several years. I have approx 2,000 rounds of 5.56, plus 19 mags loaded, and haven’t bought a single round at panic prices. I don’t shoot as much as I used to, as I would have to pay through the nose to replace what I shoot up, but other than that, I’m good to go.
And that’s a bit down from what I usually have in stock. I know several in my area with much more. And it doesn’t count similar ready stocks of 7.62×39 and 30.06 M2 ball. It’ll be more than adequate for my circumstances.
The only thing I’m really low on is 9mm, and there’s enough of that to ride trouble out; if the defication really strikes the oscillator, 9mm is not the go-to round – rifle rounds, particular 5.56, will matter much more (your pistol is only useful to fight your way back to your rifle, etc.). What I’m struggling with is finding reasonably priced 300BLK subsonic to feed a new suppressed build. If anyone has a line on subsonic 300BLK at less than $1.50 a round, I’m all ears. Prices are bad, but I can wait and be patient (I hope). It will get better.
Guns here (center of the midwest) are not particularly scarce, and prices are about where they were before. 9mm pistols are available and at pre-panic prices; AR’s jumped up, but have mostly come back down to near pre-pandemic levels.
If you (the generic you) had any awareness, you’d have stocked up, at reasonable prices, years ago. I’ll simply wait out the panic, thanks. And where I live, the likelihood of having any significant civil unrest in my area is some number above zero, but not much.
Best of luck to all of you; may you come through the coming crazy times healthy and unscathed.
With the way ammo prices are now it would be more economical to buy a flamethrower.
Now I have to check their prices.
So they’ll burn down their own neighborhoods. Why should I care?
Because your woke mayor or governor will move some of them into *your* neighborhood … since those poor unfortunate souls have no place to live, their neighborhood burned down don’t you know.
