Robert Runcie is the managing turd that put recidivist Nikolas Cruz into the Promise Program that ultimately lead to him committing the Parkland massacre.

He has absolutely zero, no, none, fuck all credibility to judge school safety.

This man has proven to be more concerned with covering his own ass than student safety.

Fuck him and everything he has to say.

  1. I have two kids in elementary school.
There are 27 elementary schools in my county.
There are–on average–six teachers per grade per school.
Each classroom has an average of 20 students.

School stopped on March 4th. That was a Wednesday. They had an emergency closure for two days in order to “deep clean” every school in the county because one parent at one school said they might have come in contact with someone who had COVID19. Afterschool care was still open…..so the kids were still allowed to physically go to the school, there just was no instruction. Teachers and staff were basically the only people who didn’t go to the schools those two days.

Over the weekend, they decided that they could not verify the parent’s story, so….they decided to remain closed another two days. Aftercare was converted to their snow-day protocol, which meant that only 10 of the 27 schools had students….but now they mixed students from 2-4 schools together, widening the chances of spreading the disease if it was, in fact, in play.

At 7pm on the night before they were to re-open, they announced they would be closed the remainder of that week. Spring break was the week after that. During spring break is when the Governor started issuing school closure orders, but it was another month before the decision was made not to have students come back for the rest of the school year.

Only at that point did my county’s school system start to think about remote learning. Even then, they didn’t actually do much. I think my kid had two zoom calls with his entire class and my wife had two 5 minute calls with his teachers about his grades. That was it. Three months of classroom instruction, gone.

The state started publishing some lessons on youtube. Those are actually pretty good, and they’re statewide curriculum. The teachers who are teaching the lessons are from other school systems entirely, and it’s one teacher per subject per grade level. So….maybe 100 teachers are involved statewide?

Our county school system is making noises about not returning in the fall, which is one month from now. If they do…..do I get a reduction in my property taxes, sales taxes, wheel taxes, and any other “educational” tax? Because I don’t see the need for me to pay for the salaries of 160 teachers per grade level when they aren’t even doing anything.

  2. I read a headline somewhere that said Betsy DeVos was going to look into holding up Federal funding for states who don’t open schools back up.

  3. “Runcie has absolutely zero, no, none, fuck all credibility to judge school safety.”

Or anything else for that matter. Scumbag leeches like him should be exiled permanently to Diego Garcia and made to work off his debt to humanity.

  4. Decisions are being made by powerful elected and unelected officials that are based on nothing more than scary headlines. These decisions are having a massive adverse impact on hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people, depending on the size of your political area(s).

Yet, not a single person is looking at the data their City/County/State is providing.

My State (granted, I live in a rather sparse population density state) is showing these kinds of numbers:
Percent of positive tests: 0.9% (percent of total tests conducted.)
Percent of cases hospitalized: 6.6% (93.4% of people are recovering without hospitalization.)
Percent of cases resulting in death: 1.43% (Of people testing positive for the virus)
Percent of cases resulting in death where COVID-19 is the primary cause: 0%

Percent of hospital beds available: >50%
Percent of ICU units available: 61%
    Percent of ventilators available: 93%

Yet…. the idiots in charge are imposing more and stricter restrictions because there is a “surge” of new cases. And, their reason? They do not want to overwhelm the medical system.

We need to start electing people who have some clue about doing math.

  5. The only data they are looking at is the Presidential Ballot this November.
They will do anything to destroy the economy, people’s confidence, and hurt President Trump.

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is using the one thing these parasites understand, MONEY!

Hit them in the wallet and watch them fold.

  6. Isn’t that the same system that covered up St. Skittle’s criminal behavior? IMHO, letting him escalate just led him to think he was invincible, resulting in his suicide-by-bad-target-selection.

  7. I don’t quite understand why the Dems aren’t clamoring to get America’s youth back under their control so as to restart the indoctrination. Not too long ago some educational elites were decrying how parents weren’t qualified to teach their own children during these lockdowns.

    1. Maybe the unions that own the D party have decided that not working while still collecting pay is a better gig than having to do the semi-hard work of indoctrinating.
