I had to go have a small procedure today and as you can imagine, they won’t let you in without a mask. Since this is not people that know me and I did not feel I needed to piss off, I went with the least aggressive of the masks:
The doctor got a good chuckle out of it. Then she proceeded to taser my eyelids.

The sheer selfish, petty psychopathy displayed by the attitude towards masks on this site is pretty staggering.
You say you have only one rule (for your comments section): ‘Don’t be a dick’. And yet you’ve gone out of your way and put effort into being a dick and virtue signaling…something or other, to other people in the real-world via captions on masks.
The absolute worst case scenario is that masks are literally pointless and you wore it for nothing. Oh well. That’s not a big deal, and it’s not exactly a sacrifice.

She complains we must wear masks because she does not have enough PPE. That is an issue between her and her employer. And here is the thing: She can always quit and seek employment somewhere else, not trying to be an emotional terrorist.

And you are basically elevating a theater as valid as the TSA is in airports (both equally useless) and as the one and only thing that can save us from death. The fact that even contracting Kung Flu, you have a 97% or more chance of not even having to visit a hospital has still not entered your little brain.

The US is still facing a shortage of PPE in many places. Her employer may simply be unable to source equipment at this time. But regardless of the cause, if there is a shortage and the public wearing masks themselves in any away helps alleviate the problem, what exactly is the purpose of not helping out?
And have you considered that she continues to work because she wants to continue to help people?
Covid can leave permanent damage behind in people who show mild or even no symptoms. And even if that weren’t the case, 3% is actually not insignificant for a disease that spreads so much. And that’s on top of the fact that one of the points of masks isn’t to protect yourself. It’s to protect other people from you in case you already have it and are asymptomatic and don’t know it.
At no point did I say anything about wanting to censor your opinion. I’m asking why you’re so keen on acting like a petulant child.

Bullshit. Every single item of PPE, from head to feet is available in Amazon. You should have checked first. You no longer can use that as an excuse.

If you have it, your phelgm and snot will contain vast amounts of the virus. Wearing a mask (any kind of mask; it doesn’t need to be N95) will massively reduce the chances of you spreading the virus simply be containing your emissions.
Again, you need to interpret what you read, at least with a small amount of common sense. When you have a report that “suggests” That is not something cast in steel, it is merely a guess or at best a hypothesis. And when they add to add the “long term effects” of a virus just started 4 months ago, you have to understand it has to be BS or at least another great dose of guessing as not enough time has passed to even call it “short term.”
The best epidemiologists and microbiologists and other scientists have been investigating Ebola for decades now, and still can’t pin down the sumbitch for final control, yet we have medical magicians in a website that know all there is to know about a virus that popped up last November… yeah fucking right.
And as for PPS? Don’t have to take my word, go to Amazon and look for it. It is there. The supply chain is up and running, if the nurse works in a hospital that can’t figure out at least Amazon, much less real medical supply companies, maybe she does need to seek employment somewhere else.
PS: The only official shortage in the country right now is guns and ammo.
