Whenever the temperatures drop too much…

…houses catch on fire.
We are not sure why this happens. Maybe Al Gore is right and cold weather also creates Global Warming and that is why we have these events.
The good news is that by tomorrow we should be in the 70s again and next week we will more than likely turn on the Air Conditioner.

More like people using space heaters and other such things to warm the house and starting a fire.
Cold winter days are the busy time for fire fighters here too. Furnaces going full blast, space heaters, electric blankets, maybe tossing some wood in the fireplace, it all increases your risk of a home fire.
Here is the thing… this fires are probably caused by old kerosene heaters. Still plenty of them in SoFla, Lack of use probably made them last long time.
PS: That also goes for old electric heaters without the tip over switches.
Every year in South Dakota, somebody would not pay their gas and electric bill and have their use limited. They’d go and get a charcoal grill and bring it in the house to keep warm and poof, carbon monoxide poisoning.
