I had to scratch my head on this one:

MDA SYGThat kind of reminds me the mothers of career criminals that get shot and/or killed while on the performance of their crimes and the moms are interviews later and say that he was a good boy, didn’t know why he did what he did, “He didn’t deserve to die that way”and assorted other posthumously excuses.

Dear Moms: If you don’t want your “babies” to be shot, tell them not to be pricks, not to engage in crime, not to pick fights (specially in states with CWP) and to respect the law and be good citizens. Just because you might be a failure as a parent, does not mean I am supposed to die at the hands of your “Time Out” Junior.

  1. I couldn’t find the link at their FB page, but last year, maybe earlier this year, there was a ‘report’ about Florida’s SYG law that claimed justified homicides increased 50% or something. When I looked at the states on the FL gov website, the justified homicides increased at about the same rate for the police, too. The Po-Po don’t rely on SYG law, they didn’t have a duty to retreat before the law. This would suggest that more thugs were doing more thuggish things and getting shot for their trouble, not that more people were shooting more thugs because of the law.

    1. What he said – except you don’t even need to know that police use of justifiable homicide went up. If cases that would have gone to a trial are now simply handled outside of court as “justified”, that just means they’re clear cut cases where SYG just changed the file cabinet the case went into.

  2. Wonder if they bothered to compare the rate of increase in justifiable homicide with the decrease in criminal violence. Basic logic tells us that more justifiable homicide means more dead bad guys, but… yeah… logic is as foreign to these folks as Cobol would be to a Kallihari Bushman.

  3. I would like to mention that when I was young and angry(and occasionally violent), my parents DID tell me “Stop acting like this!”(This is actually a contributing factor to my late adoption of a firearm collection and the fact that I didn’t consider carrying until fairly recently)

It probably took me longer to mellow out than they would have liked, but I have managed to avoid granting someone justifiable homicide against me.

    It ain’t that hard.

    1. No they can not think, theirs is a world where the emotions rule. Logical thoughts are not required for them to throw out commentary that leaves the rest of us dazed and confused as to how they came to that conclusion.

  4. “He was just starting to turn his life around”. Right up there with “But Officer, these aren’t my pants.”

    1. Dear kindly Sergeant Krupke,
      You gotta understand,
      It’s just our bringin’ up-ke
That gets us out of hand.
      Our mothers all are junkies,
      Our fathers all are drunks.
      Golly Moses, natcherly we’re punks!
