Remember Bank of America and the posturing?
Bank of America to step away from clients that make military-style assault rifles for civilians.
I guess some share holders reminded management about the legal principle of fiduciary duty.
Bank of America is still working with gunmaker Remington
A top Bank of America executive pledged in April that the bank wouldn’t “finance military-style firearms for civilian use,” but the bank is still lending $43 million to gunmaker Remington Outdoor Company.
Virtue signaling gives you a nice warm feeling on the inside. It also empties your bank account. Not good when you are a bank.
My guess is the board reminded the CEO.
BoA still sucks sweaty donkey balls. >:-/
Do not be fooled. The BoA “leopard” cannot change its spots.
I will believe B of A has changed when Anne Finucane is fired and publicly disavowed. I will still cancel my credit card because they have a long history of being a bad actor and still deserve to fail.
BofA actually said – according to VP Anne F. – that they would no longer deal with ANY firearm makers that make ‘military style’ weapons or parts. I am not the only one who is severing all dealings with them – even after 40 years and being a Platinum Preferred customer – yes it is a pita to change checking, savings, direct deposit, auto-pay and credit/debit cards but if they are going to treat us so poorly, buh bye.
My wife cancelled her BoA card. 10 minutes later she had a Discover with a higher limit. Two days later she had a second AMEX with DOUBLE that limit.
There’s no reason for her to go back.
We have a BOA account with a low balance for one reason: They have the most ATMs. The rest of our meager resources are with other institutions.
As John RIngo said: “Get Woke, Go Broke”.
