I saw Miguel’s post A lot of people are echoing the sentiment.

I went all the way back to the source of this on Twitter.

I screen grabbed a little back and forth that I felt was appropriate

I’m not going to be coy.

I am going to be honest, by way of a rambling anecdote.

I don’t get along at all with my fellow Jews on the topic of politics.

I was at a Seder a few weeks ago at the Conservative synagogue in town.  The high holidays brings out people who are not regular attendees so events like this give an opportunity to meet new people.

I’m talking to some of the other people at my table and they ask what I do.

Oh I’m an engineer

“Where?”

“[Company in the defense industry].”

And a hush falls over the the table.  Jews don’t do that in America.  We don’t work with guns and grenades and stuff like that.

“What do you like to do for fun?

I shoot.  IDPA and USPSA mostly.

Silence.  Jews don’t do the gun thing.  This is not the first time something like this happened to me.  It was worse in Illinois.  At least in Alabama it is understood there is a gun culture.  Jews plus Chicago means no tolerance for guns at all.

The topic of politics comes up and I am the lone Conservative.  Why?

My answer is simple.  History has shown us they big government is bad for Jews.  You name a time and place in history, the Greek Empire, the Roman Empire, the Monarchies of Europe, German Nazism, Communism, wherever there is big government, there is oppression of the Jews.

Even in the USA, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the grandpappy of American progressive big goverment murdered Jews when he had the St. Louis turned away from American port and sent back to Germany.  Yes, Democrats own that.  Put that polio crippled dick in your mouth and suck it supporters of FDR.

So I am an advocate of small government.

Then of course since I poked the Holocaust topic by bringing up Nazism and FDR, I ask the question.

I agree, Never Again.  You agree, Never again.  Never Again.  So what are you going to do about it?”

That’s when shit goes south.  I get a lot of namby pamby answers.

Alright, so it’s 2039.  Enough Social Justice Warriors get elected and stack the Supreme Court.  The decide that the 14th Amendment doesn’t apply to the Jews because… Israel.  Now American Jews have to be exterminated for justice for Palestine.  The concentration camps are being fenced in, the gas chambers are being built, and college kids are tweeting selfies of themselves standing next to containers of hydrogen cyanide with the hashtags #DeathToTheJews and #JustiveForPalestine.  What the fuck do you do.”

Crickets.  They figured that they could write compelling Facebook posts or vote for their Congressman or maybe write a letter to the editor of the local news paper and stop it.  We’re past that now.

This is where guns come in.  This is where I start to quote Solzhenitsyn.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?… The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

I am an angry, vengeful, mean fucking person.  The only way to stop your people from being put into mass graves is to put the people who are trying to put you into mass graves in mass graves.

It doesn’t sound noble but it is the undeniable lesson of history.

Look at Rwanda.  The Canadian peacekeepers tried to be all polite and stick to the UN rules of engagement.  What happened?  Canadian peace keepers stood around with their thumbs up their asses and watched as Hutus wielding  machetes butchered Tutsis.

If your goal is to save innocent Tutsis, when the mob of Hutus with machetes shows up yelling “cockroaches” you open up on them with something big bore and belt fed like the climax of Rambo 4.

BTW, Rambo 4 is the greatest morality play ever put on film.  A bunch of liberal, pacifists armed with nothing but the best of intentions get raped, tortured, and murdered by evil people with impunity until an American starts killing the evil people with one of John Moses Browning’s inventions.

The next argument I hear is “you can’t expect Jews to have stood up against German soldiers going into their homes with machine guns.”

First of all, I do.

Second, that is the last step.  Why is that these people always seem to thing that the first people targeted should be the 19 year old fresh out of boot camp?

The first people on the to kill list should be every member of the SS who met at a chateau in Wannsee who came up with the final solution.  Kill the guy following orders if you have to, but your priority should be killing the guy giving the orders and his supporters.

Then I hear the typical “isn’t that stooping to their level?”

This isn’t a fucking chess game.  If the situation is ‘I lose and my kids go into a gas chamber’ than it is a no holds barred fight.  If my kids don’t get to sleep soundly in their beds, neither do theirs.

So how does that translate to the gun rights issue?

I’ve seen a lot of opinions online since Parkland that echo the sentient “if you want us to take them from your cold dead hands, we will.”

The “we” of course is not the activists saying that.  They want to elect people and pass laws that send the police out to make gun owners’ hands cold and dead.

The way I see it, the people saying “if you want us to take them from your cold dead hands, we will,” be they celebrity activists, land-whale social justice college professors, or anybody in between, might as well be tweeting from a chateau in Wannsee.  They are the ones planning the final solution to the gun control question.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.  I have studied history, and I know it repeats itself.

Next time around, if the shit hits the fan and there are going to be mass graves, I fully intent to be filling them, not lying in one.

  1. These people don’t understand the Torah at all. “Stoop to their level”, my ***. If you don’t understand the moral difference between aggression and defense, you do not have a working brain and you are unfit to go into the company of adults.

    1. Col. Cooper said it very well (as he did most things, that he said!)

“One bleeding-heart type asked me in a recent interview if I did not agree that ‘violence begets violence.’ I told him that it is my earnest endeavor to see that it does. I would like very much to ensure—and in some cases I have—that any man who offers violence to his fellow citizen begets a whole lot more in return than he can enjoy.” – Col. Jeff Cooper (from here: https://survivalblog.com/editors-quote-day-309/)

Kinda my plan “B”. Plan “A”: Mind My Own Business, die in my bed, surrounded by family.

  2. Yup, i love platitudes…write them down on paper and hold it in front of you, seec if they bullet proof. I Sir am not Jewish and I will never understand how some will be rabidly democratic and support the very people who want to destroy them. Its almost a memtal disorder. Keep up the fight. We the People are with you.

  3. “Isn’t that stooping to their level?”

Yes, or even lower than their level. Moral high ground means nothing as your corpse is being shoved into an oven. You’re dead and your enemy is busy killing your family, your friends, and your fellow patriots. If you are in a fight to the death, the only thing that matters is your survival. If it means a knee to the groin, a knife in the eye, multiple head shots, or nuclear weapons, nothing is off the table. The only thing that counts is that you are alive and the people who want to kill or enslave you are dead.

Does this mean that resistance will eventually win the day? of course not. But doing nothing will get you nothing except your death, and the death of every thing you hold dear.

  4. “you can’t expect Jews to have stood up against German soldiers going into their homes with machine guns.”

I’ve heard this argument as well, it’s really no different than the “you don’t need an AR-15 because the Federal Government will use tanks and missiles on you”. What it boils down to is abject cowardice and/or spiritual enthrallment to tyranny. It’s the idea that if you find yourself on the wrong end of tyranny, you shouldn’t dare oppose it for to do so would be futile.

Even more alarming is the glee that many liberals exhort while demeaning those who suggest fighting back against tyranny. Many of them seem to be be genuinely excited at the idea that a government would murder it’s citizens, whether that be the Nazis or a perverted, progressive version of our current American government that would kill citizens who don’t tow the line.

There isn’t going to be a reconciliation with people like this and there isn’t going to be any compromise. They want us dead. Literally. As time goes on, more and more are coming out of the woodwork and barely concealing their dark desires.

  5. The conversation J narrates reminds me a whole lot of a chapter in the excellent novel “The Mitzvah”. If you haven’t read it yet, I’d recommend you do so. Fine story.
I’d suspect you’d get a friendlier reception at an Orthodox congregation. Perhaps not your preference for other reasons…

  6. The post from that guy in Idaho hit the nail on the head. You attack someone and their families then everything about you is fair game.

  7. The injunction “הבא להורגך השכם להורגו” kinda implies that we need to own, and be proficient in the use of, the tools for “השכם להורגו”.

  8. Bravo!!1!

Very glad a friend linked this post; your dig at FDR “fans” caused coffee insufflation.

My Dad and a few members of his family survived the Holocaust. Due in-part to that – and having been raised as an Ornery-American – I’m a very 2A-friendly Jew. (Originally from the Windy City, lived in CA for 26 years, have been in GA for the past 10 and appreciate the relatively gun-friendly local culture.)

Many of my family / Jewish friends have a hard time with my active 2A support. My typical short response to their objections is to explain that if the SHTF for Jews in America, I will NOT be boarding a f*ckin’ cattle car; I’ll go down swinging if need be. Preferably accompanied by my friend with the Jewish-sounding name: Mr. Mossberg.

When they opine that sort of thing can’t happen here, I remind them that early 20th Century Germany was considered one of the heights of civilization re science, the Arts, culture, etc. and it all went to Hell pretty fast there.

Which nearly always causes them to STFU.

Aside from my family history, I quite agree with the Founders’ beliefs, including that free people have an inherent right to self-defense; truly don’t understand why so many of my fellow Americans simply don’t “get it”.

    1. If things do go down, and Mr. Mossberg has to come out, then know you aren’t going to be alone. I am not Jewish, neither but ethnicity, or religiously… But I’ll be damned if any SJW, liberal, progressive shitstain is going to start rounding up ANYONE because of feewings, or privilege, or however the hell else they’ll try to excuse it. You carry on the disagreement with Mr. Mossberg and take care of the close work, I will bring along Mr. Kalashnikov and concentrate on the middle ground. I am certain we could find a third to take the long view for us.

  9. Ani goy. I started reading about the Holocaust as a young teen, but even so it was not until I visited Yad Hashem that I realized that Jewish US soldiers captured by the Nazis were also sent to the death camps. We must all be ready to go to extreme measures to stop that kind of tyranny. When I see the photo of the Jews being marched out of the ruins of the Warsaw Ghetto it still enrages me that most of the people outside the ghetto refused to give any help to the Jews. I love the USA but I have no trust that a large percentage of our population would react any differently than the people of Warsaw in 1943.

    1. Fargason:

I grew up in the fifties. We learned about what happened to the Jews in Germany during the war in elementary school. I didn’t hear the term “Holocaust” until much later, but we knew about the “showers”, the ovens, the slave labor, and the medical experiments. We saw pictures (sanitized for our tender years) and of course most of our fathers had served and related their own stories (again sanitized). If the box cars ever roll in this country, this old, fat, baby boomer will be there for you to the best of my ability. I probably will go down but I will go down fighting.

      1. I appreciate your sentiments, but I am not Jewish. We should all be there for anyone who is being treated that way though.

    2. FYI, the Public Housing envisioned by the PLSDs (Progressive Liberal Stalinist Democrats) is reminiscent of the ghettos the Nazis set up and of the slave plantations throughout the world and America’s south. Let us not wait until they are marched out of those ghettos, let’s bring down the ghettos. Jew, Black, whatever group the ghetto is made for needs to be removed–no more slavery and no more prejudice. One America, love it and all of the people or go where you will, just don’t shove your PLSD-crud down our throats and tell us you have our interests at heart.

  10. Wow! I have said much the same to the people and they look at me like I’m insane. I’m not a Jew, I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, you know, the Church that John Moses Browning belonged to, and I’ve been telling people for years that they PLSDs will come for us as well. Why? Because we put God and Family first, just like the Jews.
We also put first the idea that man has the God-given right to think for himself and to protect his family and his rights with anything necessary to ensure our continued life as free people.
You left out one large government in your list, Islam. No, it isn’t a religion anymore than Communism or Nazism. Its ideals and methods can be seen in what happened everywhere they have been in control. Freedom of thought, expression, choice of belief, the right to live without them in your every single action or place doesn’t exist under Islam. Look to the Ottoman Empire when it turned to Islam, it became no different from Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia. I love Israel as I love America and will stand with her as I will with Americans should the PLSDs (Progressive Liberal Stalinist Democrats) ever get to the point of changing this country from what it is to what Hitler, Stalin, Mao and others have managed to do to their countries.

  11. I agree 1000000%! NEVER FORGET! NEVER AGAIN.

Any Jew that is for gun control is a TRAITOR! TRAITORS! They’re ancestors are rolling over in their graves. How dare they forget their history and blindly try to help recreate it all over again.

  12. Brother you’re not alone. The Talmud teaches, “If someone comes to kill you, arise [preempt him] and kill him first” (Sanhedrin 72a). The Shulchan Aruch affirms this Talmudic principle by ruling: “If one sees that someone is pursuing him with the intention to kill him, he is permitted to defend himself and take the life of he who is pursuing him” (Choshen Mishpat 125:1).

  13. Some thoughts from the Psalms from a Christian (but don’t hold that against me – the one I follow and worship is a Jew 🙂

Many are not clear that there are things our God of Love downright HATES. What is one of those things? People who love violence (and just to be clear, this is referring to people who perpetrate violence on the innocent, not those who need to use potentially lethal means to defend the innocent.)

Psalm 11:5, “The Lord examines the righteous,
but the wicked, those who love violence,
    he hates with a passion.”

And one more verse that is not a suggestion but a command…

    Psalm 82:4, “Rescue the weak and needy;
Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.”
