It will never be abused, right? Nothing like a constantly beeping beacon showing where your gun is at all times to anybody with the proper technology to make you feel war and fuzzy…because, you know… radio waves? That is so high-tech only a few people know how to intercept.
Local law enforcement apparently peed a little in their pants when they found about this. But yes, ony for tracking stolen guns…yeah right. And specially the part where the software sends LEOs notifications about the gun being moved. And if that does not scare you…

Absolutely unacceptable. We need to punish the TracFind company. Their product will not prevent crimes but will be a big issue with our security from our government that wants to control everything.
Imagine if the government wanted to place one in your Bible and every time that you opened it this was recorded or your refrigerator door with a camera to monitor what you are eating or some equally obnoxious intrusion into your privacy. Kind of like the NSA. You get what you tolerate.

I once worked with a Federal agent who had previously been a Pinellas SO deputy in the late 70s and early 80s. He said his career perfectly illustrated the urbanization and changes in Pinellas County. His first call as a deputy was a stolen cow. His last call, as a detective (during the cocaine cowboy era), was a triple homicide.

Hillsborough is the only county around here that does the full delays allowed on any sale. They have the optional rifle waiting period and enforce the full “pawn hold” on guns sold to gun shops before they can be resold. Enforce it hard enough that some shops even apply it to the specifically exempted transfers going through their FFL.
And just west is the nearly as bad Pinellas! Pasco might suck, but at least we’re not stuck with two giant liberal enclave cities.

Yes they did under the excuse of tracking the gun during production….that the chip was not removable was why people called BS.
