Except it took 14 shots to bring this guy down
Never forget that pistol rounds are inefficient in nature and we carry sidearms because of convenience.
Where a Hispanic Catholic, and a Computer Geek write about Gun Rights, Self Defense and whatever else we can think about.

Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

Yep. The enemy is at the gates.
Looks like some folks are reacting to it too: https://www.news965.com/news/lake-declares-itself-second-amendment-sanctuary-county/KAuIDbe7vIuOJfJB4I0uyK/
Time will tell if too little too late.
I was just discussing this with a friend, who had this to say:
friend: Headshots always win
me: Tough to do on a moving target from 30 feet using a handgun. That is why handgun shooters train for center mass.
me: Move in and know your target, more and more people are using body armor you can’t take that risk anymore
Friend is not a gun owner, and is from the UK. Has lived here for over a decade, but isn’t a gun guy. People see the cops on TV making incredible shots from long distances, shooting guns out of people’s hands, etc. and think that shooting is easy.
I think I heard it in the movie Act of Valor:
Headshots are honest
Divemrdic, I’d invite your friends to the range, put some balloons on strings, and invite him, “Ok, show me how it’s done!”.
“Now, let’s have him shoot back. On lieu of that, I’ll beat you from behind with this pool noodle. Easy-peasy, right?”
There’s a classic OIS, cited in one of Remsberg’s “Officer Survival” books, wherein the bad guy sustained something like 60 or 70 strikes, center of mass strikes, with Silvertips (cannot recall caliber, but it was not new when I read it circa 1980), and half a dozen 12 ga slug strikes, in his torso, and KEPT SHOOTING! Pathology reported, IIRC, that one of the 12 ga slugs severed his aorta (a non survivable wound) something on the order of 15-30 seconds prior to him ceasing hostilities.
Think about THAT in conversations….oops, I mean harangues, about magazine capacity limits.
I’m an old street medic, still in the sick people business. In the shootings that I personally have run on, this dude in my example took the same amount of stopping as nearly 20 “typical” shootings.
