That’s actually insanely accurate. I’m gonna use that in classes.
Another way to get the point across about how stand your ground is essentially just common sense is to give the history of it…how it was just the normal state of self-defense by assumption for hundreds of years, then how liberals made “retreat laws” which screwed it all up and got a bunch of people killed, and then “stand your ground” laws, in essence, were just codifying the opposite of the retreat laws because of how awfully they worked.
Remind the students that the final determination if they retreated enough is gonna be done by people that were not present when the caca hit the fan. A prosecutor with the desire to screw you will say to a Grand Jury that a reasonable person would have jumped from a second story window of a house
