Still a Waffle House virgin and will remain vestal by the looks of it.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A gunman opened fire inside of a Nashville Waffle House early Wednesday morning injuring one person inside, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Two men, an uncle and his nephew, were sitting at a table at the Stewarts Ferry Pike Waffle House location when they said a gunman they don’t know entered the restaurant and started a verbal fight.
When the gunman pulled out a weapon, the nephew rushed towards him and tried to take the gun away, according to police.

Engage from a distance and with the proper tools. The hand-to-hand stuff works in the movies, not in real life.
Fortunately, I’ve been one time while visiting in NC and nothing untoward happened. Whew!
At a Waffle House you can sit where you can see the door, watch them cook your food, and watch your car. Try that at a Cracker Barrel. Never had a problem at one. Also, they tend to be cop magnets for the reasons above.
Went to one in Beaufort, SC. Good food, good service. *shrug*
I don’t quite understand how you get from that news report to “I’m avoiding that company”. Now if the report said something about it being a “no guns allowed” business, that’s different, but I don’t see that.
Its a meme that crazy shit happens at waffle house. Probably because of all the late night revelers that patronize them after hours of substance abuse and/or consumption coupled with the only naughty things happen after midnight factor.
There are what… approximately 4,387,264,015,290,356,548,357,201,943.8 Waffle Houses below the Mason Dixon line, and one or two have problems? So, you are avoiding the whole company?
.
Looks like a bad argument to me.
There are 1,980 Waffle House restaurants in the United States as of October 10, 2023. in 25 states – https://www.scrapehero.com/location-reports/Waffle%2520House-USA/
@Lawful2Shoot?: “…approximately 4,387,264,015,290,356,548,357,201,943.8 Waffle Houses…”
Pretty sure that was hyperbole. 8>)
Thanks RicktheBear, I should have used ??, I’m still working on learning to laugh at least once a month. Thanks for helping. 😉
@Lawful2Shoot?: Here for you, sir.
That’s still about 2.62 average per every Interstate interchange.
Last time I was at a Waffle House in TN, I noticed a father with his elementary aged son, open carrying a polymer Sig of some flavor in a kydex OWB holster and nobody cared. Made me smile.
to be clear, the father was strapped, I dont’ see the edit button.
And remember — the Waffle House Index is a critical part of the federal disaster response planning.
