Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

    1. He was a Republican, to my surprise. Lincoln Rodgers, elected to the state legislature in 1901, elected to a second term.

Horrifyingly, the source I found this in, Charles Moore’s “History of Michigan, Volume 3” states: “…he gave excellent service as a member of the Committee on the Home of the Feeble Minded…”

  1. Let’s hear it for Margret Sanger and the early Progressives. The NAZIs took that idea and ran with it. With Teutonic efficiency, they chose poison gas as the execution method. It worked so well on the “feeble-minded” that they expanded the idea to other undesirables. If Bloomie wants to let 95 year old men with prostate cancer go home and die, how long before the “useless eaters” are given a lethal dose of fentanyl?

  2. Around the turn of the 19th century to the 20th century the republicans were the progressive party and the main proponent of eugenics was none other then Teddy Roosevelt. It was basically a tactic to keep the Anglo-Saxon race pure. The democrats practiced eugenics based on race ie the rash of lynchings perpetrated by the kluckers. Never liked the kkk and my admiration for TR waned to nothingness. Also Adolf Hitler’s love of eugenics can be traced back to this peculiar time of America’s social policy. And biographies and histories of the time are replete with this info. Like Casey Stengel said “if you don’t believe me you could it up.”
