Neil Smith has a good line about the death penalty: “I am in favor of the death penalty, administered at the time of the crime by its intended victim”.
BTW, on rapists: the NH law on justified deadly force authorizes it not just for the obvious, but also for rape and arson. Makes sense, even if not directly called out since both are threats of deadly harm.
