There was one bit of mask news that I have not seen and did not expect to see.
If you remember all the way back in the early days of the push to wear masks, the Leftist media panicked that if black people were forced to wear masks, police, store owners, security guards, concealed carry permit holders, etc. would murder masked black people because they are racist and would assume any black person in a mask was a criminal trying to hide their identity.
This went so far that one Oregon county exempted black people from the mask mandate.
So far, I have not seen one news story that any black person in a mask was shot for wearing a mask.
Since I don’t assume all Americans everywhere are racist, this doesn’t surprise me.
I just feel the need to point this out because the media will never admit that thier racist paranoid projections failed to materialize.
If I recall correctly, in Virginia there was a law against wearing any mask, IF the person was open carrying a firearm. (Note, there is a long-time custom and legal to open carry in Virginia.) BUT, when the left implemented the mask law, the ban was rescinded.
Florida did that, clarify that CCW with a mandatory COVID mas was legal. Miguel wrote a post about that. It was a concern in several states, all of which seemed to take the attitude that it was fine.
I suspected that if they said “you have to wear a mask and that means your CCW is suspended” they would face a flurry of lawsuits.
I’ve seen people of every color, creed, and ethnicity walking around my area, all wearing masks, and nobody is getting shot over it.

(Mind you, there have been some shootings recently, but as is typical, all in the sketchier neighborhoods, and I expect they’ll be linked with drugs, gangs, or some other criminal activity. It’s highly unlikely it has to do with people wearing or not wearing masks.)
There’s no statute in Oregon that outlaws wearing a face covering while armed, or going armed while wearing a face covering, or however you want to look at it.
But just like every other time, the anti-freedom folks’ doom-and-gloom, blood-in-the-streets prediction — this round: of masked black men being shot on sight by overreacting CHL holders and business owners — has not happened.
Here Its only illegal to wear a mask when carrying a firearm IF you are going to commit a crime….
