Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds’ car hits BLM protester who ‘intentionally’ blocked it: report

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds’ car struck a Black Lives Matter demonstrator who blocked the vehicle’s path Tuesday, according to a report.

Jaylen Cavil, an organizer with Des Moines Black Lives Matter, said he stood in front of the governor’s vehicle outside of an event in Ackley, hoping Reynolds would roll down her window to speak to demonstrators, the Des Moines Register reported.

The demonstrators were barred from the event.

“The SUV that Gov. the was driving in drove right up to me,” Cavil told the outlet. “I was standing right in front of the car and I just stood there. I was like, ‘I’m going to stand here. Surely the driver of the governor is not going to hit me with her car.”

“This is the governor, my governor, who’s supposed to be representing me,” he said. “I’m sure that her car is not going to intentionally hit me. I was wrong.”

Cavil later took to Twitter over the bumpy encounter.

“I’m physically okay,” he wrote. “Just still shocked & trying to process the fact that the governor’s car intentionally hit me today.”

He intentionally blocked traffic and prevented the egress of a political VIP.

This is an ambush tactic, blocking the governor is a threat to her.

Her driver acting accordingly.

I knew people who were deployed to Iraq.  I asked about it and they told me it was common for protestors to block roads and slow down or stop convoys.  That would make it much easier for insurgents to kill US troops with small arms, rocket launchers, and hand grenades.  Vehicles traveling at high rates of speed were harder to hit.

SOP became run over the protesters.  A HMMWV weighs roughly 8,000 lbs and is powered by a turbo-diesel engine.  Protesters who chose to play chicken with one generally lost.

The shooting of a driver in Utah (the shooter and another protestor, in that case, have been arrested) shows that the same ambush tactic used against our troops overseas has come here, at least on one occasion.

There may be more.

It’s not unreasonable for a governor’s driver to push through a protest with the vehicle to ensure the safety of the governor.

I just hope that extends to the rest of us.

Protesters who block traffic do so putting drivers at risk.  Perhaps not all want to shoot drivers or turn them into another Reginald Denny, but they don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt.

More incidents of violence against drivers are coming.  They will only stop when drivers refuse to stop.

This driver is the hero we need right now.

Slashing NYPD budget by $1B will lead to more lawlessness, police unions warn

Plans to slash the NYPD’s budget by $1 billion threaten to further plunge the Big Apple into “lawlessness” and it’s the communities that will pay, union officials and police sources said Monday.

“Mayor [Bill] de Blasio’s message to New Yorkers today was clear: you will have fewer cops on your streets,” Police Benevolent Association president Patrick Lynch said in a statement.

“Shootings more than doubled again last week. Even right now, the NYPD doesn’t have enough manpower to shift cops to one neighborhood without making another neighborhood less safe.”

The Mayor’s attitude towards police doesn’t help.

The prediction of lawlessness came to fruition quickly.

Why should an NYPD officer risk being hurt by being hit by glass bottles and other hard objects being thrown for a city that clearly doesn’t care about them, a mayor that doesn’t support them, and where they will get thrown under the bus and destroyed for defending themselves?

Protest aftermath: Police seeking information regarding shooting, hit-and-run incidents

Officers with the Provo City Police Department are investigating several allegations of violence on both sides of the End Police Brutality Provo counter protest down University Avenue — which resulted in the shooting of a driver who was attempting to force his way through protesters.

The protest was organized to counter a “Back the Blue” event also held in downtown Provo on Monday evening.

Police say that both the police rally and counter protest coincided without incident until just after 8:30 p.m. At that time, Provo city police received a call regarding gunshots and a potential hit-and-run. Sometime later, authorities received another call about a possible shooting victim that had been checked into Utah Valley Hospital.

Based on video footage captured by other protesters, a white SUV was driving south on University Avenue before pulling into the right lane in an attempt to turn onto Center Street, said Deputy Chief of Police John Geyerman.

Several protesters began approaching the vehicle as it was attempting to force its way through and a male protester ran up to the SUV on the passenger side, pointed a handgun at the driver, and shot one round through the window, striking the driver.

The driver accelerated southbound onto University in an attempt to get to safety, Geyerman said.

The male protester who is seen shooting into the vehicle ran after the white SUV and shot a second round through the rear passenger window. Video footage then shows the protester concealing the firearm and continuing to protest.

Reports indicate that same male protester later approached another vehicle at 500 N. and University Avenue, striking and breaking the window with the same handgun, Geyerman said.

Police are investigating, there is a victim, and he was injured and hospitalized.

The protester with the gun apparently attacked a second vehicle.

This looks like an ambush.  A dozen people surround the car to slow it down so one could take a shot at the driver.  Whether the shooter coordinated with the other protesters or not, slowing the vehicle down was key to the driver getting hit.

Cars are not bulletproof.

IANAL but it seems if this is the new tactic for protesters against cars, slowing down is a bad idea.

The vehicle in the video is a early Ford Excursion.  Even with the smallest engine configuration, that is still 7,200 lbs of truck powered by a 350 ft-lbs V8.  Bowling over protesters like skittle pins is not difficult for a truck like that.

It not just about getting pulled out and beaten.

It’s about getting shot through your side window.

If I have my kids in the back seat I’m not slowing down for fuck all.

Driving a 7,000 lbs, 410 HP, 3/4-ton truck, physics is on my side and it’s the protesters who need to get the fuck out the way.

Now, this is not new. Ever since the state opened testing sites to anybody over 18 with or without symptoms and antibody kits (non-invasive and fastest) are now available, people have been flooding to get tested.

It is basic common sense: You expand your pool of test subject, make it easy for them to take the tests and make it free and it is not out of the realm of possibilities that people that had caught the virus but were asymptomatic are now detected and entered in the database which will rise in numbers. But is that how the media portrays it? Nope, it would make sense and oppose the Narrative.

Yup, they play it backwards. It does not give them pause for one second to think that unless there is testing, nobody can know the number of people infected. Apparently the number of infections they harp on rise without the need to have tests made, it is like they have superpowers that let’s them know things and the testing itself is not quite necessary.
