The absolute truth about corporate social justice

Anybody who knows about how the Chinese train their Olympians knows that this is how China creates all of it’s professional athletes.

The thing to note is how blindsided the NBA was that this would be released.  They knew.  Of course they knew.  The just didn’t think ESPN would say it out loud.

It’s  perfectly clear that social justice isn’t about caring about the oppressed.

It’s hard core anti-American Leftism.

Millionaires and billionaires who plan in and own NBA franchises spend so much time criticizing Americans but don’t say a peep about China where they make their money because they are not going to criticize the Chinese Communist Party and risk the loss in income.

These people hate you and are moral cowards.

I want to run for Congress.  It’s time that we impose a 99.9% corporate income tax on pro sports and stop protecting their trademarks.

Also, if these people care so much about slavery that they want to take down statues of Washington and Jefferson because they owned slaves, it’s time the  government impound all good manufactured by slaves overseas.

Every pair of Nikes and piece of Chinese made NBA merchandise should be seized at the docks and impounded.

We can’t have American companies supporting slavery.

If they want social justice and virtue signaling while  siding with the CCP, they should pay for it.

Old News: Dogs with Machine Guns

From October 1914 and WWI was just getting started.

This was one tidbit of information I did not know.  I even found a photo of a colorized postcard depicting a team of dogs with what appears to be a Maxim in tow.

And a bit of search turned out this:

The dogs used to pull the machine guns were Belgian Mastiffs, this strong breed were more than capable of drawing the 60lbs weight of a Maxim gun.  At the time it was not uncommon for dogs to be used as pack animals in Belgium as they offered an efficient and economical alternative to expensive horses.
The dogs were able to pull the machine gun carriages that also carried some of the gun’s ammunition, weighing up to 200lbs, for long distances. They were quite capable of keeping up a 4 or 5 mile per hour pace over a long distance on a good road.  The relatively cheap cost of pack dogs compared to horses, along with their relative lack of maintenance – with no need for horse shoes etc, made the dogs an excellent option.  They also offered a much lower profile than that of a pack horse, allowing them to stay close to the guns ready to move under cover when in action, and were much easier to handle without the need for specially trained troops.

Historical firearms – BELGIAN MACHINE GUN DOGS

And that is one more thing I know.  Interesting, but WWI changed how warfare was fought in so many way, we are bound to find strange things to our modern understanding.

A&E went woke, got broke

A&E’s viewership drops 49% after canceling ‘Live PD’

A&E Network lost nearly half its prime-time viewers since scrapping the popular police reality series “Live PD” in response to the George Floyd protests, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.

Average prime-time viewership for A&E between June 11 and July 19 was down 49% from the same period last year, the report said. Average daily viewership was down 36% from a year earlier.

A&E told The Wall Street Journal in a statement that the drop was a “temporary hit in the ratings” that the network anticipated due to the popularity of the show, and that it had mostly been replaced by reruns. “The network said it has always been able to ‘find new hits and reinvent ourselves,’” the newspaper reported.

I guess canceling a realistic show about police to appease Black Lives Matter, and replacing it with reruns was a stupid idea.

In traditional economics, every executive that signed onto a decision that knowingly would lose half the audience of the channel for a fringe special interest group would be fired and made persona non grata in business for there on out.

Now, losing have the viewers of a channel is just the cost of going woke, which is more acceptable.

This will only end when shareholders and investors start suing these managers.

If something like Live PD causes boycotts and drives down viewers then cancel it.  But to preemtively cancel it knowing there will be a loss is bad for investors and the decision makers should be held to account.

Furthermore, it’s  predictable that if A&E would cancel their most popular show to appease BLM, then the new shows they come up with will be equally woke bullshit like Transgender Toddlers or Nonbinary Vegan Organic Farming.  Shit nobody will want to watch but will be praised by all the right-thinking critics.

Maybe when some executives lose everything for breach of fiduciary duty, companies will get the message.

And we got us a Hurricane.

It is official and it looks like it is going to miss us altogether.  There is even a good probability we won’t be even getting Tropical Storm speed winds and they are only forecasting lots of rain, but then again it is Summer and it is not unusual to have 4 days of straight showers and thunderstorms. The only drawback is that there will be the usual flooding and we will have to hear the pundits telling us we are sinking because global warming and not because South Florida is a sea level and flat as a counter reclaimed swamp land.

PS: Somebody in the Carolinas asked me to send some rain their way. It seems they have had a rather dry year. Well, it is on its way and we do not accept returns. 🙂

Yankee Go Home but leave Dollars behind? It does not work that way.

U.S. President Donald Trump has angered many German politicians and media commentators with his decision to withdraw nearly 12,000 troops from Germany. Defense Secretary Mark Esper laid out the plan on Wednesday.
Under the proposed pull-out, close to 6,400 troops will return to the U.S. and another 5,400 redeployed within Europe.
The withdrawal plan presented by Esper foresees more significant cuts than expected. The current pull-out of 12,000 troops amounts to a third the 36,000-strong U.S. military contingent in Germany, the Wall Street Journal, and other U.S. news outlets reported. …
…The U.S. decision comes after Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government repeatedly reneged on the promises to pay two-percent of the NATO defense spending. Berlin is “delinquent” in its defense contributions, President Trump told reporters on Wednesday.

Trump’s Plan to Pull U.S. Troops Angers German Politicians, Media

American Military bases generate a lot of cash for local economies whether in the US or abroad.  But while at home the closing of a base is fought by the locals, abroad we have to contend with Anti American sentiment by the Left and politicians who constantly attack our presence which has been acting as deterrent for decades in most locales. What amazed me was the surprise they had when they realized that not only the gringos were gone but their dollars. From Spain to even Puerto Rico, locals were suddenly confronted with the ghost of having their income eliminated because stupid politics.  Oh well, so sorry. Learn to code or something.

NATO has been Europe’s unemployment benefits cash box in a sense. Not having to spend much in developing their defense has allowed them to divert that cash into the society and their economy, and they know it. But it is another example on how entitlements pervert the mind to the point of losing all sense of self respect.  Our money somehow is their right. There was an Air Force base in Spain back when there was still a Soviet Union that was maligned constantly by the locals. IIRC, once the Soviet empire fell, the base’s strategic importance diminished and it was rumored it was in the lists of worldwide bases to be removed. The locals doubled their efforts and actually celebrated when the announcement of closure was made. They were not as happy when suddenly all contracts and orders were also cancelled or not renewed and local hires were told they were no longer needed in base and (very formally and politely) to go pound sand.  They went from very rich town to ghost town in a couple of years after the base finally closed. The town mayor, a firm critic of the US actually said they were not expecting the US to depart and leave them without resources. yes they were expecting that the US would still give them money just because.

And Germany? They deserve what is coming to them.

Most of the troops who will leave are stationed in southern Germany.
“Stuttgart will feel the loss of American purchasing power,” the Lord Mayor of the southern German city Fritz Kuhn noted, pointing to the absence of U.S. military and civilian employees in the future.
Aiming at the U.S. leader, he added: “U.S. president doesn’t care much about diplomatic customs and — allow me to say — he doesn’t understand much of it.”
Bavarian politicians at the city and municipal level are “hoping for a Trump defeat” in the U.S. presidential election, Die Süddeutsche Zeitung reported:

Germany is supposed to be Europe’s top economy, how come they can’t take care of their own defense or at least contribute with a measly 2% of NATO’s budget? Why are our troops needed? An answer might be this:

Washington’s decision comes as Berlin depletes its military preparedness. A 2019 German parliamentary report found that “less than 50 percent of the Bundeswehr tanks, ships and aircraft were available at any one time.” In recent years, Chancellor Merkel’s government has been busy converting military barracks into migrant housing and running re-education programs for its top military brass on gender and sexuality.

Why should my tax dollars go to fund Socialist Woke projects? You created your shithole, you deal with the flies. Stop asking us to pay for your mess.
