Two stories out of Texas:

First:

Harris Co. mask order official and comes with $1,000 fine

Harris County issued a mandatory mask order Wednesday, which has already drawn opposition from community leaders, ranging from how it will be enforced, to how the order should be handled individually.

Under the order, residents 10 years old and older will be required to wear a covering, starting Monday, April 27. The order will last for 30 days. Coverings can be a mask, scarf, bandanna or handkerchief.

The masks or coverings must cover the nose and mouth, but the coverings are not limited to medical or N-95 masks. The only exceptions to the rule will be when exercising, eating, drinking, if you’re alone in a separate place, or at your home.

Hidalgo said the mask order will be enforced by a $1,000 fine.

Wearing masks might be a good idea, enforcing it with a $1,000 fine is not.

The Houston Police Union already announced that it won’t enforce this tyrannical bullshit.  We have yet to see if other police unions will join in this civil disobedience.

Second:

Texas women allegedly violated coronavirus stay-at-home order with beauty businesses

Two women allegedly violated the emergency management plan when they offered their beauty, cosmetic services from home.

Their arrests were initiated for violations imposed by the COVID-19 Emergency Management Plan on Wednesday.

Arrested.  They were arrested.

Laredo police said they launched investigations on the cases after receiving anonymous tips via the LPD app.

Normally I wouldn’t say this, but switches better be getting stitches.

“Both of the violators independently solicited customers via social media. On both cases, an undercover officer working on the COVID-19 task force enforcement detail made contact with each solicitor to set up an appointment for a cosmetic, beauty service that is prohibited under the emergency ordinance,” police said in a statement.

Yes, you read that right.  There are undercover flu cops.  Undercover flu cops.

In one case, Ana Isabel Castro-Garcia, 31, was arrested in the 1200 block of Harding Street after she agreed to and met with an undercover officer who posed as a customer needing a nail service.

“Castro-Garcia admitted to running a nail salon inside her residence and promoting the business on social media, going against the mayoral decree currently in place,” police stated.

In the second case, Brenda Stephanie Mata, 20, was arrested in the 1100 block Hubner Street. She allegedly agreed to perform an eyelash service inside her residence for an undercover officer posing as a customer.

Castro-Garcia and Mata were each charged with violation of an emergency management plan, a Class B misdemeanor that carries a punishment of up to 180 days in jail, a $2,000 fine or both.

Two working-class women trying to make a little extra scratch because they are out of a job were arrested for painting nail and plucking eyebrows in their homes for cash.

This is why jails are releasing drug dealers, thieves, people who commit assault, and low-level sex offenders.  So they can fill them back up with people trying to make ends meet by doing nails in their kitchen.

These two women would literally be in less trouble had they sold drugs while wearing masks and gloves.

This shit is like a Law & Order/Twilight Zone crossover from hell.

I know Texans own a lot of guns, but right now there is an ammo shortage so I recommend conserving bullets and using a pneumatic guillotine instead.

The Governor of New York:

Did you see that?

He doesn’t care if poor New Yorkers go broke and commit suicide because then only they die.  If they go back to work, he, Governor Cuomo, could die and that would be a tragedy.  The poors of New York are just non-essential, disposable chaff in the New York machine.

He goes on to gloss over “economic hardship” and “mental stress” are not death.  Then, in a blinding display of tone-deafness, he glosses over domestic violence a “bad but not death.”

He fundamentally doesn’t care if the working people of upstate New York overdose, commit suicide, or beat their wives and children to death as long as he and his donors in NYC don’t get sick.

The people of New York have a responsibility to Governor Cuomo not to get him sick, and that’s what is really important.  The livelihoods of working-class New Yorkers, not so much.

He says “nothing comes before the public health risk.”  He also says that if you are out of work, you are “non-essential.”

Well here are some headlines you never thought you would read in a place like New York.

“Non-essential” workers include doctors, dentists, optometrists, and other medical staff who are not on the front lines of the fight against Coronavirus.

I really, really want someone to track the number of foot amputations that will have to be done once the lockdown ends because diabetics were unable to see podiatrists.

Also the number of mastectomies and hysterectomies that could have been adverted by had chemotherapy and radiation treatments not been delayed for months.  Miguel was right in his post.  When you get a cancer diagnosis the first thought that screams it’s way through your brain and comes out of your mouth is “get it the fuck out of me now.”

For many people, the cure for Coronavirus is death, or worse, not just because of poverty.  But if you end up losing your breasts or feet so that Governor Cuomo doesn’t get sick, your sacrifice will go unnoticed.

But I’m not done yet.

NY issues do-not-resuscitate guideline for cardiac patients amid coronavirus

New York state just issued a drastic new guideline urging emergency services workers not to bother trying to revive anyone without a pulse when they get to a scene, amid an overload of coronavirus patients.

While paramedics were previously told to spend up to 20 minutes trying to revive people found in cardiac arrest, the change is “necessary during the COVID-19 response to protect the health and safety of EMS providers by limiting their exposure, conserve resources, and ensure optimal use of equipment to save the greatest number of lives,’’ according to a state Health Department memo issued last week.

Did you have a heart attack?  Maybe you went into anaphylactic shock?

It doesn’t matter, 911 has to let you die because you might have Coronavirus and the hospitals in New York City are full.

First responders were outraged over the move.

“They’re not giving people a second chance to live anymore,’’ Oren Barzilay, head of the city union whose members include uniformed EMTs and paramedics, fumed of state officials.\

Oh I bet they fucking are.  You know who is going to be even more outraged?  The family members who watch the paramedics show up and look at dad lying on the floor and say “Governor Cuomo told us not to shock him, we’re sorry for your loss.”

Understand that this order applies state wide.

In Utica, New York, the hospital furloughed 20% of its workforce.

Cayuga Medical Center in Ithica furloughed 200 workers.

Syracuse regional hospitals furloughed 1,665 workers.

Outside of New York City, hospitals are empty.  They are operating below 50% capacity.

Still, Governor Cuomo’s DNR applies to the first responders in those areas too.  Have a heart attack in Syracuse and the paramedics are just supposed to write down your time of death instead of taking you to a half-empty hospital with a workforce that has little of anything to do but watch the clock until shift end.

I really, really hope that upstate first responders ignore Governor Cuomo’s order and save lives.

The Governor is treating every acre of New York State like New York City and it’s killing people.  It’s killing them with poverty and with terrible medical policy.  All because the Governor doesn’t want you to get him sick.  So stay home and enjoy your $600 per week in unemployment benefits, you fucking peons.

I expect to start receiving guillotine orders from upstate New York any day now.

Dr. Didier Raoult is the French scientist who is leading the studies about using the  Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin to treat people sick with Wuhan V. Now, I know we don’t have much respect for the French, but besides creating great bake goods, the other thing they do admirably is microbiology and disease research and they are scary good. We are talking about the country were Pasteur was born and did his stuff and they have maintained that excellence. And from what I have been able to see, the good doctor is a rock star in his field covering from identifying and sequencing new bacteria to paleontomicrobiology studying the Black Plague. This guy is NOT a CNN Expert Contributor but the real McCoy in his field.

But our Left/Media rabidly hates Dr. Roult. I initially thought this was because Trump cited his work with the Hydroxychloroquine as hopeful and they had to be contrary which included crapping all over this guy and doing it with gusto. And I was not wrong, but it seems there was another unforgivable action by the good doctor that had him painted by the laser targets of the Left way before the Pandemic: He is a Climate Change denier.

You go into what they call study, and you are forced to laugh and want it to spit. They have to acknowledge that since there is not a reliable way to count guns, even when they ask nicely to people (We lie about ownership? I wonder why), they have to “extrapolate data to achieve their results  Some of the “extrapolated” data comes from the number of hunting licenses and even subscriptions to Guns and Ammo. Yeah, no shit that is going to be less than accurate since a lot of people in Gun Culture 2.0 don’t do paper magazines nor hunt.  The other data points? Suicides.  Talk about being freaking ghoulish for political bullshit.

And it is from that suicide study that we get this quote:

So, according to The Trace and the Rand Corporation, the number of households with guns has actually gone up! from 32% to 40%.

According to US Census Bureau, there are almost 120 million households in the US with an average of  2.63 inhabitants per household.  That would make for 48 million households with a gun inside.  And if you are very noble and only allow one person in the household to own that solitary gun, we would have 48 million Gun Owners as the very lowest of estimations.

If we only count adults over 18 (about 70% of the population) we get 1.81 adults per household or 72,400,000 Gun Owners.  I know that many people under 18 own guns, specially outside the Gun Free Zone cities, but I did not find the percentage out of expediency for this post.

Now, all this is with the data provided by The Trace.

Now, this is my math and I would not be surprised if I made a booboo somewhere and I am still short, but the idea that Gun Owners in this country are an insignificant minority is plain stupid.  LGBT who consider themselves and influential minority  put themselves at 4.5% of the population.

We are 22.5% of the population according to The Trace.

The top 10 biggest armies in the world combined come to 7,224,000 soldiers.

U.S. Gun owners are 10 times that according to The Trace.

I don’t think that is what The Trace was expecting to achieve.

President Donald Trump warned on Wednesday that the United States would destroy Iranian gunboats that harass American ships at sea.

Its about Goddamn time that we remind Iran whose navy has the bigger dick.

It was embarrassing when Obama let our sailors get captured and taken hostage.

No more.  We’ve put up with Iran’s bullshit for too long.

Next time some Iranian gunboat gets too close to one of our ships I hope our sailors introduce their sailors first to the Mk 38 25mm weapon system and then to the devil in hell.

Breast implants saved woman shot in chest

A woman’s life was likely saved by her silicone breast implants after she was shot in the chest at close range while walking down a street in Toronto, doctors have said.

The 30-year-old’s left breast implant deflected the bullet away from her vital organs into the other breast, according to a case study published last week in the SAGE medical journal.

Normally I’m all for a titty shot of a big pair of sweater stretchers but not in this case.

The patient, who was not named, went to the local emergency department in the Canadian city after feeling pain in her chest and seeing blood.

I’d expect getting shot to be more intense than that.

Surgeons found a single entry wound and retrieved a bullet from below her right breast, which police forensics later determined was a copper jacketed 0.40 caliber, the study said.

I guess we can add “won’t penetrate a pair of boobs” to the caliber wars anecdotes against the 40.

They removed her implants and photographs with the study and CT scans show the bullet passed through her left implant and hit her right one.

Typically we call tagging one target behind another as “a Quigley.”

Surgeon Giancarlo McEvenue, who wrote the case study, told CNN the bullet entered the woman’s left side and ricocheted across her sternum into the right breast.

Despite being shot in the chest at close range, the woman escaped relatively unscathed with a fractured rib and damaged implants.

I’ve done ballistics testing.  We used ballistics gel which is gelatin.  We’ve shot through glass, plywood, sheet metal, and everything else the FBI requires.

I’m sort of surprised to see how poorly this bullet did going through a few hundred CCs of silicone.

I wonder if when this was all said and done if she got a new pair of titties, even bigger than before.

You know, for the added protection.

The wife of a friend of mine had a breast tumor detected, still in a early stage ,and hopefully a quick in-and-out surgery to have it removed would do the trick.

But the Lockdown came to happen and since her surgery could not be classified as urgent, she has been at home knowing that a tumor is growing in her body. What that is doing to her and her family is beyond words.

Another case is a guy whose last bloodwork showed what could possibly be indicators of leukemia and needed to get an appointment with a hematologist specialized in oncology. Again the lockdown happened and he has to wait till the lockdown is finished to see somebody.

If we keep sucking up to the worrywarts who want everybody locked away till there is a perfect cure for Wuhan V, the toll from other sicknesses will be tenfold what this pandemic will bring about.

We need to bring back some normalcy.
