Purge by numbers – data from New York City

Regular readers of this blog know that Miguel and I have been documenting the cities that have used the Coronavirus as an excuse to reduce arrests and let criminals out of jail.

In each instance, the news has been clear that this only applies to non-violent offenders.  The problem is that even a non-violent offense is still an offense and innocent people are hurt by them.

The New York Post now has data on the effect of this reduced policing of non-violent offenders during the Coronacrisis.

Commercial burglaries soar since coronavirus emergency measures

Who could have guessed that?

Anyone with a modicum of common sense, actually.

Commercial burglaries in New York City have risen 75 percent amid the coronavirus outbreak, according to data from the NYPD.

Police said 254 businesses have been targeted between March 12, the day a state of emergency order was issued by Mayor Bill de Blasio, and March 31.

This is up from the 145 burglaries recorded for the same time period last year, NYPD officials said.

“What we are seeing is that criminals are specifically targeting cash businesses, supermarkets and bodegas,” said NYPD Chief of Crime Control Strategies Michael LiPetri.

So much for protecting the working class and small business owners in New York City.  They are being preyed upon at an alarming rate.

The empty streets, curfews, lockdown, and lack of police have made it much easier for criminals to break into businesses and get away with it.

“The opportunities are in a different place. There’s a lot less happening during the day, for example a lot less trucks are getting robbed. The burglaries we are seeing now are more organized and specifically targeted. There’s much more night-time entry, more forced entry, individuals breaking locks to get into businesses while they are closed,” LiPetri said.

Forced entry into a store to steal all of the cash inside maybe technically be “non-violent” because someone wasn’t physically hurt, but it’s not a victimless crime, which is how bail reform advocates seem to portray it.

The next question is: how long until these non-violent crimes turn violent?

Such as if the owner of a bodega decides to spend the night in his store to keep it from being robbed, and the criminals who break in decide to hurt or kill him for his trouble.  We already saw something like that occur with disastrous results in Virginia.

This is only going to get worse given the circumstances.

We now have hard data to show how bad of a policy this lack of criminal enforcement is, I wonder if the politicians that pushed it will ever be held to account.

Your daily reminder that they hate you and want you to die – Trump vs. the Virus Trolley Problem

From the YouTube:

You can tell they don’t imagine that it’s a million New Yorkers dying to oust Trump.

They are clearly picturing a million nameless people in Trump flyover country dying.

That one crazy old woman with the mask said what we all know to be true about the hard Left.  There is no human cost they will not spent, no limit to the numbers of people killed in order for them to achieve their political goals.

If what it takes for them to win the next election is a million or ten million Americans dead, that’s just the cost of doing business.

The Jew and the Sailor

I love to read about history.  Every time I read a book about the history of naval warfare or explorers on the high seas, I read about the horrors of hardtack.

There are many reasons that being a sailor during the golden age of sail was perhaps the roughest job in the world, but hardtack has nothing to do with it.  Not if you’re Jewish at least.

Sailor: “The worst part of being a sailor is your ration of hardtack.  It’s terrible.  It’s tasteless and dry.”

Jew: “So… Matzoh.”

Sailor: “You just don’t get it, it’s made with nothing but flour, water, and salt.”

Jew: “Yeah, Matzoh.”

Sailor: “No, they don’t let it rise.  They bake it hard.”

Jew: “Yeah, we call that Matzoh.”

Sailor: “No, they do it that way so that it will survive for weeks and months on a hard voyage.”

Jew: “Like when my people wandered in the desert for 40 years eating Matzoh?”

Sailor: “You don’t understand, for days on end our diet consists of water and hardtack.”

Jew: “Yeah, that’s called ‘Passover.'”

Corona Virus deaths: Playing the stats game.

The latest freak apparently in our country is the way deaths by Beer Virus are counted: If you have the bug and die of something else, it is counted as death by Wuhan.  I really do not see the problem with that unless you were stabbed 15 times and dies of the wounds while having been infected by the virus. But if you die of pneumonia or some heart problem exacerbated by the virus, then it is the virus the cause of death.  A dagger to the heart will cause cardiac failure, but you do not reclassify a homicide as natural causes, right?  So no, I do not believe they are inflating the numbers.

Now, if you want to see some real creative statistical games, I will refer you again to Ecuador.  These are the latest official number of deaths by the virus.

And this was yesterday’s:

If you read the blog yesterday, you saw the bodies all over Guayaquil’s streets and inside homes. You saw the video of people burning the decomposing bodies and stacks of bodies behind hospitals and inside containers. In fact we know their own government officials acknowledge all the bodies.

In fact they have announced the development of cemeteries to bury the estimated 12,000 victims.

So how can the government say they only have 220 deaths by the virus? Simple, none of the bodies collected outside hospitals had an official autopsy made, right? They can “truthfully” say they do not have an official cause of death and due to the circumstances and knowing the helath issue of bodies decomposing, it was necessary to bury the bodies and we may never know the true cause of death. Got it?

Add to that those who died by pneumonia or some heart problem  that was exacerbated by the virus, will be recorded as dying by pneumonia or heart problem.  Thus we vindicate the awesomeness of our Single Pay Health Care System and Socialism is once again proven to be superior to the heartless Capitalism.

Yes, it is an assumption, but I know the Latin mind and specially when infected by the Red Menace.  More than even money that is what they are doing in Ecuador and other countries.

Good job Trump – WHO edition

This made my morning:

The WHO has been doing nothing but providing coverage for the Chinese Communist government.

I will post this from the WHO again as a reminder:

That was a lie.  We know it now to have been a lie.  Still, the WHO published it because communist tyrants love communist tyrants.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom once appointed mass-murdering communist Robert Mugabe as a “Good Will Ambassador ” for the WHO in Africa.

This is the same WHO that had refused to acknowledge Taiwan because of pressure from China, even to the detriment of the world as Taiwan was effective in severely restricting the spread of Coronavirus while it has exploded in China.

The WHO is just as incompetent and corrupt as the rest of the UN and has long outlived its usefulness.

I’m glad to see Trump withholding funding from them and I hope next comes a total defunding of the UN.  The UN just made China a member of the human rights council, despite everything we’ve just seen come out of China regarding how many human rights they violated trying to cover up the Coronavirus.

It’s time that a US President stood up to that wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Dear Folks: Nobody does stats like the USA.

Earlier I posted this official numbers of Ecuador.

I posted some of the pics and video in Facebook and people were confused because the official numbers simply did not match the imagery coming in.  I realized that they were believing the official numbers because we are used to the statistics in the USA being as close and as truthful as possible. Yes we have people and entities that will fudge stats for their advantage, but most Americans are not used to the wholesale amount of bullshit that other countries load in their statistics.  They are simply the political wishful thinking /PR Handjob of whomever is in charge.

But the truth unfortunately for them, seeps out. Local paper in Ecuador:

And I saw tweets from local government officials acknowledging the hundreds of corpses picked up and that they are about to build a cemetery with a capacity of 12,000 to bury the virus’ victims.

Today’s lesson, specially in this time of pandemic is simple

DO NOT TRUST NON-USA STATISTICS

That will be all. You may return to your duties
