Colt is ending production of AR-15s

Very first sentence:

Colt Firearms will be ending its production and sales of its AR-15 rifles due to lack of public demand amid excess market capacity.

They saw “lack of public demand” but skipped over “amid excess market capacity.”

Second paragraph:

Colt released a statement on Thursday to clarify the decision, which was made because the company simply isn’t selling enough of the rifles in the civilian marketplace to continue devoting the resources into it — a pattern that may be attributed to Colt rifles’ $1,000+ price tag and a market supplied with lower priced competitors.

Nobody wants to pay a grand for a Colt AR-15 when you can get one from Palmetto State, DPMS, Anderson Manufacturing, and S&W for sub $500 depending on features, and all just as reliable and often more accurate.

Third paragraph:

Colt President and CEO Dennis Veilleux said, “The fact of the matter is that over the last few years, the market for modern sporting rifles has experienced significant excess manufacturing capacity. Given this level of manufacturing capacity, we believe there is adequate supply for modern sporting rifles for the foreseeable future.”

The market is flooded with low-cost alternatives that Cold can’t compete with so they are pulling out of the game.

Fifth Paragraph:

“On the other hand, our warfighters and law enforcement personnel continue to demand Colt rifles and we are fortunate enough to have been awarded significant military and law enforcement contracts. Currently, these high-volume contracts are absorbing all of Colt’s manufacturing capacity for rifles,” he said.

Rather than lose money on the civilian market, they are putting all their resources into military contracts – which by the way are mostly overseas to support allies in the war on terror.

Sixth paragraph:

Veilleux doesn’t want customers to think the decision has any bearing on the company’s support of civilian customers or the Second Amendment.

Colt isn’t doing this for political reasons, just the money.

So this article contradicts the very essence of March for our Lives’ Tweet.  They read the first nineteen words of the article and jumped for joy and ignored the rest,

I just wouldn’t consider the idea of the market being so flooded with cheap AR-15’s that Colt can’t profit off civilian sales as their definition of “winning.”

That’s more like our definition of winning.

Pardon me if I am a bit reticent about believing this new doomsday date based only in political BS from a bartender from Brooklyn and an angry 21st version of Pippi Longstocking.

I do believe it is not going to go well anyway… Who cares?

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was born December 25, 1971, he’s only 47 and squarely a Gen X’er.  He finished high school in 1990 and college in 1994.  He was younger when he was elected PM than Obama was when he (Obama) was elected President.

Trudeau is also the internet’s Woke Bae.  This was the PM who chastised a teenage girl for saying “mankind” reminding her is “peoplekind” (“peoplekind” is such a made-up, Woke, bullshit word that my spell checker keeps telling me it’s wrong).

So which one of these world leaders do you think is the one who had pictures taken of him in Blackface?

If you followed the #MeToo campaign and learned that declaring oneself to be a “male feminist” is near 100% accurate predictor of being a rapist, then you probably make some assumptions about the world leader that declares himself an anti-racist.

Yep, it’s PM Justin Trudeau that has not one, not two, but three different photos or videos surface of him in some sort of racial blackface.

These were not from the 1960’s mind you, because he wasn’t born yet.  Nope, these date from the 1990s and as late as 2001.

P.S.  Given how much Trudeau pushed being anti-racist and to see this, and to know that he calls himself a “male feminist” I’m wondering when the story of him having a The-Girl-With-the-Dragon-Tattoo-esque kidnap and rape torture dungeon emerge.

We finally managed to finish Amazon’s The Boys and although based in a good premise, the delivery IMHO was less than full. In fact, it went short.  I have to remind myself these type of works where the script is based on comics or follow its rules, cannot have a lot of depth or common sense.

Truthfully the only reason i watched the whole thing was because of the acting of Karl Urban who portrays an asshole killer but he does not try to hide it and even makes it look good. He is like the cousin you know it is gonna get you in trouble and more than likely has warrants on his ass, but you can’t help but like the bastard and go out to get beers with him.

Florida Power & Light plans to install 1,000 electric-charging stations at 100 locations across the state.

The utility’s announcement Wednesday says the stations would be located on major roadways, public parks, shopping malls, tourist destinations and at major employers, such as Office Depot in Boca Raton.

FPL spokeswoman Alys Daly tells the South Florida Sun-Sentinel she didn’t have a cost estimate. The charging stations would go through regulatory approval in Tallahassee as part of a future cost-recovery filing with the Florida Public Service Commission.

The company’s chargers are universal, compatible with all electric cars, as well as plug-in hybrids.
