Moms Demand Action: Digging up the horse and beating on it again.

I love the way the play with the language. They write with sufficient outrage, but they are careful not to be untruthful.
MDA Guns Mexico LA

Notice that they do not say that the guns were sent to Latin America illegally as they could get in the realm of defamation. But their average unsatisfied Mom will read exactly that and picture late night truck runs full of machine pistols from the factories to the Mexican border where they are transferred across the border by poor illegal aliens seeking to make a better life for themselves in the US doing the jobs US Citizens will not do.

This is the equivalent of me demanding a law because I am shocked to discover that 70% the food in my neighborhood is bought at the local WalMart Superstore and the rest is equally divided among WinnDixie, Publix and Navarro’s.

Dear Moms, re-bury this particular horse before the stench gets in the draperies.

Dear AP Reporters: Goose…Gander..You know how it goes.

Again, thanks to our dear “friends” from CSGV:

HELENA — Associated Press reporters in Montana have been subject to online threats after the news spread that Attorney General Tim Fox had denied AP’s request for the names and other information about Montanans with concealed-weapons permits.

On July 30, the AP filed a report with the Helena Police Department over the online threats, said Jim Clarke, AP chief of bureau for Colorado, Montana, Utah and Wyoming.

Clarke declined to elaborate, saying: “The AP refrains from ever publicly discussing security matters affecting staff, and that goes for war zones such as Kabul as well as locations in the United States.”

Some online commentators have published the names and addresses of AP reporters in Helena, while another ran a Google Street view photo showing the house owned by one AP newsman here.

One online threat on a blog said, “If only someone could release the names of the AP reporters, where they work, their home addresses, names of family members, where their children go to school and what kind of car they drive with the license plate number.”

via AP getting online threats after seeking names of concealed-weapon permit holders.

So basically, if a “reporter” ask for name-address-assorted info on somebody to publish, it is OK because..you know, the people have the right to know. However if the People do publish the name, address and other information about a journalist, then it becomes a terrorist threat and law enforcement must come to their rescue.

Sometimes I wonder if it is a requirement by News Organization that their reporters be purposely dumb. It is not like this is the first time some idiot with a press badge has tried to obtain the list of CWP holders and it always ends up backfiring big time. Still, no single news apparatus has sufficiently explained what is the “public interest” in releasing that information other than political gotcha and the person’s sense of “I am special, I can poke you whenever I want because I am a protected species.”

Let’s hope this is a reminder that Information is not the exclusive purview and distribution by those with a press badge. Or simply put: Stop poking the bear.

Moms Demand Victims: They did not catch the contradiction. UPDATED.

Am I the only one seeing it?
MDA Penn

Here is part of the news item:

Newell was outside, firing into the meeting room, where about 15 people had gathered.

“I had view of Rockne coming in. I saw Bernie (Kozen) struggling with him. Bernie got the gun and shot him in the leg twice,” Ross Township Supervisor Tina Drake said.

via Gunman kills three at Ross Township meeting | PoconoRecord.com.

So, armed nutjob goes on a rampage on unarmed people and gets intercepted by somebody taking initiative…and a gun, shoots the nutjob twice and stops the event.

As usual, the Cultists of the Anti Gun Movements fins that the easy solution is to BAN ALL GUNS (no wait, they don’t want to ban all guns…just some…no, most guns… well the guns that we don’t like which are all) but it took a man with a gun to stop the aggressor. Of course, it would have been better if Mr. Kozen had his own gun to begin with and not having to forcefully borrow the gun from the jackass.

And I do expect that Moms Demand Victims start a campaign to have Bernie Cozen arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder. Well he id shoot an unarmed person, didn’t he?  Was the nutjob wearing a hoodie by any chance?

I do want to know if the municipal meeting was held on a Gun Free Zone or (like in Florida) certain types of meeting are in se GFZs. Anybody who has the info will be deeply appreciated.

UPDATE: The Cult Coalition to Stop Gun Rights Violence kinda-sorta forgot to mention that an armed citizen stopped the attack.

CSGV Penn UPDATE 2: And the VPC also ignores Mr. Cozen as he screws up The Narrative.

Gun-Free Zones: A Threat to Every Child | Law Enforcement Today

A gang member engaged in criminal activity couldn’t care less about one more law to break. The same goes for the active shooter. If you want to commit mass murder, this law means nothing, Instead, these laws draw Active Shooters to such places like a moth to a flame. Common sense dictates that if you want to cause the most amount of damage, you choose a place that has the most defenseless targets available, in this case, a “gun-free zone.”

But he was unarmed! He can’t hurt anybody!

Back again with the “unarmed person not being a dangerous person” fallacy.

One of the bouncers who appears in a viral video of a brawl outside a Fort Lauderdale beachfront bar a week ago has been arrested and charged with felony battery.

Arnald Thomas-Darrah, 30, was arrested Sunday by Fort Lauderdale police at his Oakland Park home after he and the other bouncers were identified by one of the victims.

Police said Alexander Coelho, 29, contacted them Friday and provided a full report of the July 28 incident at the Dirty Blondes bar, 229 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., and filed a police report on Saturday.

Right at the end of the fight, police was contacted and Alexander Coelho was arrested:

Fort Lauderdale police officers who arrived after the brawl asked Coelho and Parker to calm down and explain what had happened. The two didn’t initially comply, and were arrested and charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Coelho was also charged with battery on a law-enforcement officer. Both bonded out of jail.

A picture of Coelho right after the incident:

And here is the booking photo of Coelho:

Coelho1Coelho was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where he received six stitches over his right eye and several over his left eye, the police report said.

I don’t see in the video any overt action from the victims that provoked the attack. But setting that aside, do notice the speed and violence that was used and the damaged it caused with out the presence of a weapon of any type.

As in the post Why would anybody shoot unarmed teens? we see again the importance of not falling to the ground during an attack. Not that the victim had much of a choice since he tripped over a chair and a rope cordoning off a small area, but that also bring the importance of being aware of your surroundings and, if you fall to go immediately for a fetal position and covering your head. The bouncer went from punch to stomping, elevating the level of possible damage and people have been killed by stomping.
In the gut level, I hope the bar gets sued out of existence. To hire goons like that as “security” is not what a smart business person do.

SAN FRANCISCO — Despite warnings from California officials, the nation’s highest court is refusing to delay the early release of nearly 10,000 California inmates by year’s end to ease overcrowding at 33 adult prisons.

In its decision Friday, the Supreme Court dismissed an emergency request by the Gov. Jerry Brown to halt a lower court’s directive for the early release.

via Court approves early release for Calif. cons.

What they need is…..(drum roll)….more gun control! Why? Because the raise in violent crime will be directly attributed to the “liberal gun laws” of this country.

Happy New Year California. You guys are so screwed.
