TxDOT halts directional signs for gun shows

“Obviously those shootings have raised a lot of sensitivity,” Finucane said.

You know? I am sure that a rape or two have been committed somewhere, but I don’t see people saying we need to suspend all sex for a month because of “sensitivities.”

Overwhelming Gun Bans: Fail in Illinois, next to New York with double down

The Illinois Senate failed to gather enough votes to pass a sweeping ban that would have pretty much send people scrambling for revolvers and single shot rifles and shotguns. Gun Control legislators promise to come back again, but doubtful that it will work.

In the meantime, The NY State Senate has introduced its own version of Ultra Gun Banning Bill. I think they may have to rewrite it soon or it will also die a stupid death mainly because it does not exempt cops from possessing the evil assault weapons. And since the definition includes semi auto pistols, we might end up seeing every Law Enforcement in the Empire State jonesing for revolvers.

Remember, they NEVER wanted to ban your guns, they just wanted to have a “conversation about guns.”

Masks falling off.

In a way and as dangerous as they are, The President’s Blue Ribbon panel Gun control without the presence of any Pro Second Amendment representation, Senator Feinstein’s bill along the proposed state bills in Illinois and what might be coming out of Connecticut is good ammunition to our cause.

THEY CANNOT LONGER SAY THEY ARE LOOKING FOR A “CONVERSATION ABOUT GUNS” AND “WE DON’T WANT TO BAN YOUR GUNS.”

Basically and as we knew all along, they were lying. We know this, the Opposition knows it too since they are the liars, but now we can point out to anybody undecided or just seeking information that anything coming from their camp must be treated with the same confidence as “The check is in the mail” and “I promise I call you in the morning.”

We do have to fight all these schemes, but we have to use every piece of ammo available, specially if provided by the Gun Control Advocates.

Man bites dog…and another man…and gets shot for his hunger.

Police said the homeowner found the naked trespasser choking his pet Rottweiler. “[The homeowner] spotted a person that is not only fighting with his dog, but is naked fighting with his dog,” said Moreno.

When the homeowner tried to intervene, the intruder attacked him. “He immediately jumped on the owner and started fighting with him,” explained Moreno.

The homeowner told police he shot the man in the leg because he was biting him. “For right now, it does appear to be a justified shooting,” Moreno said.

Shiva Facepalm: BLOODY REEL–HOW THE NRA AND THE GUN INDUSTRY EXPLOIT VIOLENT MOVIES TO SELL GUNS …AND MORE GUNS

This report is about the hypocrisy of the National Rifle Association and the gun industry it represents. Even as they pretend to condemn violence in movies, both exploit images of guns in extremely violent movies to sell the increasingly lethal military-style guns that define today’s civilian gun market…

…How the NRA promotes the use of guns in violent movies through its widely-publicized–and ongoing–“Hollywood Guns” special exhibit in its National Firearms Museum, in its official publications, and on its Internet website. Wayne LaPierre himself is credited as “executive producer” of the current “Hollywood Guns” exhibit at the NRA’s national headquarters.

via BLOODY REEL–HOW THE NRA AND THE GUN INDUSTRY EXPLOIT VIOLENT MOVIES TO SELL GUNS …AND MORE GUNS « Fairly Civil.

So, the NRA somehow manages to influence ultra-left-wing NRA-Hating Hollywood into producing movies with guns and lotsa violence so we can sell more guns? And the proof is that the NRA museum has a display about guns used in famous movies?
That would be like accusing the Holocaust Museum of supporting Nazism because they show movies, pictures and objects from the Concentration Camps.

Dear Mr. Diaz, the NRA did not take on Gun Rights Activism until the Cincinnati revolt in 1977. Before that it was just a very pastoral, very hunting & outdoor group. Why do I mention that? Because the first gun you mention, the Smith & Wesson Model 29 used by Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry appears to give you the vapors of indignation and proof positive of the unholy alliance between the NRA and Hollywood. The problem is that the movie came out 6 years before the NRA’s Cincinnati Revolt when the NRA went spheres to the vertical barricade on Second Amendment Issues. You may want to read all about it by following this link provided by the Violence Policy Center which I am sure it is one of your many sources of information….except this time. Tom Diaz

Mr. Diaz, allow me to quote The Duke in The Sands of Iwo Jima: “Life is tough, but it’s tougher if you’re stupid.”

A huge “What If”: I might need a Constitutional Lawyer

I was giving Sen, Feinstein’s bill some thought at work last nite and got to think about worst case scenario with congress caving and the bill passing and signed into law.  I have no doubt that it would be taken to court immediately and fast-tracked to SCOTUS where it would probably die a fast death because of Heller.

But what if the court proceedings go beyond the ban itself and revisits NFA 34 and US v. Miller? Miller was a decision made with the defendant missing and only the voice of Government stating their side of the case, which it would not be the case this time around. If NFA 34 is deemed unconstitutional and Miller reversed, if the whole house of cards does not come down, it’d be pretty close. Food for thought to a Constitutional lawyer.

But I really do not want to go that way. Thankyouverymuchjustthesame. I’ll settle for a generalized slapping in Congress and send Dianne back to chew on recycled mulch.
