I think a lot of us will agree that there are too many people that are unfamiliar with the violence that some of the lesser examples of the Human species can generate.  My guess is they think violence is what they see in their favorite TV series where the 100 lbs. female officer always manages to handcuff the 200 lbs. meth addict having a fit.  I am going to make regular video posting  under this header just to give a detached example of the real violence out there.

    1. The victim just happened to be extremely unlucky to walk in a wrong place wrong time near a crazy guy?

      1. The Mental Health Card has been cancelled long ago. There is no Evil people, only sick people who should be pitied rather than demonized, right?

        That was pure evil.

  1. I can attest: some attacks come out of the blue.

I was just walking minding my own business in the middle of the day in a a supposedly very safe area. When I was attacked, the first reaction was ‘what is happening? ‘. Next moment I was literally fighting for my life against a guy significantly bigger and stronger than me. Whom I never met before in my life.

Long story short: I got lucky.

    P. S. It happened outside of the US some decades back.

  2. “and the person in the grey shirt just strolls away, leaving the old guy on the floor.”

Not a member of his tribe, so he doesn’t matter.

  3. I bet if old dude had pulled and shot the black dude we would have been hearing non-stop about how racist the white dude was and how back in 1983 he once used the N word when reading Huck Finn or Uncle Tom’s Cabin.

As far as I’m concerned, that is a clear cut situation to use deadly force.

  4. My wife used to be like that. When we first began dating, she was mildly anti gun, meaning that if you asked her, she would tell you that she didn’t see a reason to own a gun, and certainly didn’t see why a person needs to carry one. She pointed out that she took a 4,000 mile road trip across the US by herself, and if a woman can do that without needing a gun, a man certainly could.

Two months after we began dating, we were at a baseball game and a man in the crowd got belligerent. The police came over, and he decided that it would be a good idea to punch the cop. The cop did a leg sweep, and the drunken idiot’s face hit the concrete so hard that I felt my seat shake and heard his face hit the ground from 30 feet away. After it was over, she was visibly shaken, and told me that she doesn’t like violence, and it makes her sick to her stomach.

Three months later, I convinced her to go to the range with me. I started her off shooting a .22 handgun. I find that the lack of recoil and relative quiet of the pistol are very non threatening. Once she fired that one a bit, I moved her to a suppressed 9mm. She was proud of herself, that she was able to hit inside of the 9 ring with more than 3/4 of her shots. I took photos of her and her target. She proudly put them up on Facebook. By this time, I had a drawer in her house where I kept my things. I would come into the house and immediately put my pistol in that drawer. She was OK with that. Baby steps.

Now that she has seen people for who they are, she encourages me to carry and occasionally will do so herself.
