3. My AR platform 9mm cost WAY less than that to make, and it isn’t a serial numbered weapon. Why would I spend almost twice as much for this, when I can make exactly what I want? I think it’s a nice weapon, but, being retired,(NOT retreaded, Miguel… lol!!!) I like the AR platform better. I am not saying this one is not a good one. It is definitely a work of craftsmanship, none the less!!

   2. Let’s say that after tax & FFL that Ruger comes to $575. How’d you build an AR for under $287?

      1. I purchased all of my parts on sale, and managed to build it for $372 and some odd cents. It took about 4 months to acquire the parts, but, when you look at it, you can get a barrel for less than $70, on sale, and the B/C Group for under $80, using a 9mm 80% lower on sale for less than $40, there is almost all of your highest priced parts. Using common sense, and sales on line, you can get all you need at remarkable prices. I did the same thing with my AR’s. Why buy the same manufacturer when all parts are interchangeable??

            1. Now, there is where you may have missed what I said in my post, Miguel. You CANNOT sell a weapon that you make with an 80% lower. Your cost is going to be SIGNIFICANTLY higher, buying fully machined lowers. I DID say, 80% lower.

               All of the parts operate as they should, and it has NO SAFETY issues because of using several manufacture parts. Everything I bought for mine was quality manufactured, by reputable companies. top name companies) making standard parts for the general public, and military specs. I buy nothing less.

               I spent many years as a C.A.T.M. weapons instructor, and tactical training. I may be an old fart, but, I am still up to date on weapons training. I don’t consider myself a self proclaimed expert, because I stay informed as much as I can. But, I think 43 years of experience in military, and a few more in civilian life, at least makes weapons one of my specialties. Not saying on ALL, but, a fair portion of those available to the public. I ALWAYS learn something new, every day.

                  My brain went straight to a couple of cases I saw of people hurting for money trying to sell their builds. Nobody would take them because they are guns without backing. If they go Tango Uniform and you are not good with your hands, where do you go to have to fixed? I think one of the guys just wet ahead, took it apart and sold it piece by piece.

                  But as you said, you are married till death parts with your 80%.

                  1. I didn’t say there weren’t ways of getting around that rule. Parts sales is one option. Even giving it away for a donation has been done more than you may know.AND… If you decide to serialize your lower, which you can do anytime, you can sell it, as long as you don’t do it more than once or twice a year… otherwise, you need a FFL License, and it can be a serious crime to d so without one. But, then again, why would I get rid of a weapon built and customized to my needs?? Can’t do that at a low cost from a dealer. Thats the marvelous concept. PLUS… I do not have to tell the commu-crats I have one! The less they know, the better off we are as a country.

                     I wouldn’t trust ONE politician as far as I could piss…. NONE of them!!!
