I have one of those Neighborhood aps which I use to keep track of the things happening which my interst me or affect me, but I don’t participate.

This morning this was posted:

Camera properly utilized: somebody not recognized asking to have access which was denied.

Perimeter was not broken.

Nothing bad happened.

The way it should be.

  1. He’s evidently aware of the cameras, and should have been challenged with, “I know my neighbors, and you’re not one of them, who are you and what is your address?” via the two-way communication of the camera. His reaction to that inquiry would provide some indication, perhaps, of his intentions.

  2. Another thing: A real neighbor would likely give his name and address and say “I’m your neighbor Joe Blow, I live at 123 Fake Street…”

  3. I know all my neighbors in three directions by at least three houses. The fourth? Directly across the street is a vacation rental home. Do I use the cameras on the front of the house and at the setback front door? You betcha. No cup of sugar because you forgot to bring yours.

We used to have a saying at the hotel front desk — they bring their underwear, but they forget their brains.
