  1. Good news. Federal Judge Robards issued a temporary injunction on the local ordinance yesterday. His reasoning was that if you remove any less lethal means of crowd control, the only thing the Seattle Police can use is lethal means. The Seattle PD is under a federal consent decree because of their use of excessive force previously. Removing Tear Gas and the like makes the use of excessive force more likely.

The Seattle Mayor tried to get the ban lifted earlier in the week, and like all things Seattle, they messed up their lawsuit and were rejected. The Feds once again had to bail them out.

  2. Just to clarify. The US DOJ had to intercede to successfully block the new Seattle City Council Ordinance. Mayor Durkan tried earlier and failed:

“U.S. District Judge James Robart’s decision defeated an attempt by Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan and police Chief Carmen Best to stop the plan, scheduled to take effect Sunday, the Seattle Times reported.”

Once again the OrangeManBad and his eeeevvvvilll DOJ saved the Democrat’s asses.

    1. I edited my reply a bit before posting. We should never insult the nice Free Ice Cream Vendor.

(I make mistakes too, like thinking Mayor Ted Wheeler was the Seattle Mayor.)
