Yeah, that was a real dumbass move to make that statement.
But most of these people are that level of dumbass, so……..
A judge may not let it be entered into evidence but if I was any kind of 1/2 way decent defense lawyer, I’d get it published as wide as possible and a witness to repeat it on the stand.
Seems like pretty clear indication that Kyle was very reasonably in fear for his life.
I love the Twitter ‘verse telling me that Kyle’s gun was illegal, and because it was illegal the shooting in murder and not self-defense.
Well, I hope Gaige recovers from both wounds. The one in his arm, and the one he just got by shooting himself in the foot.
Prosecutor: “What proof do you have that your client’s life was in danger?”
Defense: “Twitter.”
Prosecutor: “We are dropping charges, your Honor.”
Remember what I said a few entries back, that proper self defense does not aim to kill the attacker but only to stop the threat?
What we have here is not a person talking about justified deadly force, but intent to murder.
It occurred to me that the second part of this event — the one where this character and others were shot — was an attempted lynching of vigilante action. Not one done by Mr. Rittenhouse, even though some talking heads call him a vigilante — but against him, by a mob rushing him, trying to overwhelm him with the stated intent to murder him.
One of those talking heads was Jonathan Hunt of Fox News, who probably can excuse his lack of understanding from being a Brit. Then again, several of us here are immigrants and do understand…

If you watch the video, the kid showed him mercy when he didn’t shoot him the first time that he could have. The kid hesitated and it almost cost him his life.
Attorney Lin Wood has offered his services to Kyle R.
He said he would put together a criminal defense team, and he would handle the civil suits. I think Kyle and his parents accepted the offer.
This I like. Find good criminal litigators.

What a dumbass. I suppose in a sane world, they’d add attempted murder to his existing charge of a felon being in possession of a handgun.
I’m sure if it happens we won’t be reading about it. As we’ve seen only a few stories of these idiots being charged.
