The Washington Post published an article, explaining in a very simple and straightforward way, why under no circumstances, will Hillary Clinton be able to replace Donald Trump as president within the time frame of the current administration.

Sorry, Democrats. Trump’s not going anywhere. You wouldn’t like who would follow anyway.

In a nutshell: The Constitution.
In typical Democrat fashion, liberal commenters showed just how much regard they have for the rule of law and founding document of this nation.
Then I saw this in the WaPo author’s timeline.
Civil War.  If they don’t get Hillary, they are going to start a civil war, and they think they will win it.
I get that sure, some Liberals are buying guns,  but I still don’t think there is enough of them to make an effective army.  But they can fantasize , right?  Yes they do, and they fantasize about killing other Americans.
Actually, reading this, if the Left wants to break away from the US, form their own People’s Republic of America, and appoint Hillary Clinton President Regina for Life, I want them to too.
The political pendulum in America is always swinging.  We got Obama, then we got Trump.  It will swing back one day.  If there is one thing I know about Progressives/Liberals/Leftists, when they daydream, they day dream about Genocide.  They fantasize about death camps for those who disagree with them.  The Soviet Union, NAZI Germany, Fascist Italy, Maoist China, North Vietnam, North Korea, Cuba, etc., the list goes on.
I know that the next Democrat elected will do so with the promise of making Trump supporters pay, and pay dearly.  It will be a campaign entirely based  on Democrat vengeance.  I don’t want to see that.  If they want to go their own way now, and rule their own country, and leave us who didn’t support Hillary alone, I’ll take that.  I have a feeling it is better than what will come after Trump.
Spread the love

  1. Amending the Constitution, or trying to do an end-run around it to set up a recall process will take a lot of time too. Trump’s first term will be done by the time even the basic procedures are in place.

As for a civil war, I’m hoping the progressives are prepared to lose a of people and things they hold dear. All the little government services that tick over regardless of who is in office will be disrupted. Roads won’t get repaired, which will piss them off to no end. Progressives have a thing for roads, remember.

(The typical progressive whine to a Libertarian is – “What about the roads?”)

And yes, they’ll lose people they know and love. Progressives, even if they are buying guns, aren’t prepared for a fight. Yeah, a lot of conservatives are armchair GI Joes, but at the bare minimum, they know how to operate their firearms. Hand a progressive an AR, they probably won’t realize they need to pull the charging handle. If they touch off a civil war or even a low-grade wave of violence, they’ll be the ones killed, whether it’s by the government or by conservatives defending themselves.

The irony is funny though. The progressives clamored for more laws and regulations throughout the 8 years of Obama, and now they want to circumvent laws and regulations just because they don’t like the current guy in the hot-seat.

Truth be told, nothing major is gonna happen in the next four years. Trump will probably get tax reform done, and most likely chop down some government agencies (good!), but the overall quality of life for everyone won’t change much. People will still get their morning coffees at Starbucks in 2020.

  2. The last time the Democrats got so butt-hurt about election results that they started a shooting war didn’t work out so well for them (or the rest of the Union for that matter). An objective analysis of the relative strengths of the northern and southern states would lead any rational thinker to conclude that the southern cause was doomed from the beginning. Despite this, the Confederacy was convinced they would win until the Army of the Potomac was besieging Petersburg, and Sherman was bivouacked in Savannah.

With just a bunch of armed mobs leading their rebellion without a state to support them, this potential rebellion would last only so long a the rest of the nation permits it.

    1. In this case, the bulk of the nation wouldn’t sympathize with those trying to forcibly unseat Trump. It’d be a short revolt. Between the “rebels” being killed by citizens defending themselves and their property (most of these “revolutionaries” espouse killing Trump voters/conservatives) and being blown away by government forces, it’d be over shortly. Or at the most it’d be what it is now, a bunch of petulant brats marching around with masks.

If Trump really is a fascist or Hitler reincarnated, he’s doing a horrible job of it. His daughter married a Jewish person, there’s gays, women, and immigrants on his staff, and he’s openly supported the rights of people that fascists have historically prosecuted. Listen, the guy isn’t perfect, but we’re far from the point of armed rebellion.

It’s funny how the people with the guns aren’t talking about revolt, whereas the people without the guns, are suddenly wanting one and talking about revolt.

      1. “It’s funny how the people with the guns aren’t talking about revolt, whereas the people without the guns, are suddenly wanting one and talking about revolt.”

For years I’ve seen progressives mock gun owners who know the actual intent of the 2nd amendment, they said things like “do you really think a bunch of fat old white guys with AR-15’s are any match for the military?” Funny how things change.

        1. They finally figured out this thing called ‘asymmetric warfare’.

But little do they know, to pull it off, you need a baseline of training, or at least a crap-ton of people who are willing to die for the cause, i.e. stack a million bodies up and hope the one-million-and-first guy gets through somehow.

I have yet to meet one of these mythical progressive gun owners who can shoot worth a damn. And the funny thing is, it’s not hard to at least become basically competent with an AR. My wife, all 110 pounds of her, got the basic idea down in about an hour. I see some of these guys parading around with long guns and there’s 20 mistakes happening all at once. Not to mention lately it’s been pointed out that some of these guys are carrying Airsoft guns with the orange tip popped out – which I think is a crime in some areas!

It reminds me of the stories that came out of Los Angeles in 1992. The riots hit, and suddenly every wealthy white progressive in the area wanted a gun, only to find out that California’s “progressive” outlook on guns mandated a 10 day waiting period (even in 1992) and it couldn’t be legally circumvented in an emergency. Meanwhile, people who did have guns (including the famous Roof Koreans) successfully defended their properties from looters and rioters.

Since then, every civil disturbance in the US has played out in roughly the same way – armed residents and business owners are usually left unmolested. Rioters and other malcontents are going for easy scores. It’s why you don’t see Antifa wannabes causing issues in Texas. They’d be stacked like sandbags.

Incidents like these show the progressives the value of a gun, and then they run headlong into their laws when they want one.

One wonders how many progs have broken the law to get a gun since then. I think a dozen states have UBC regulations, so they can’t do a private transfer without visiting the FFL.

  3. Sounds like the similar bluster our side (me included) vent when frustrated. The BIG difference is we are armed and we have moral constraints. The Left has neither (note that they voted for the most corrupt and incompetent person on the planet…but she has a vagina, so it’s OK).

  4. A few takeaways from this. 1. That Robert Hawks fellow who think “his side will win” the next Civil War needs a reality check. This is real life, not the 1980’s children’s cartoon “Care Bears”. His emotions can’t be weaponized, no matter how strongly he feels. Sort of like that androgynous snowflake who lost it during the Trump’s inauguration. 2. Who would fight the war for them? The small contingent of Antifa hipsters who have just now jumped into the world of firearms? The military works for Trump, General Mattis runs the DOD, along with General Kelly running DHS. Rank and file law enforcement outside of dystopian progressive cities are almost all patriotic. and 3. A “Blue-exit”? Ok, let’s explore that. I live in upstate NY, a blue state. Except upstate isn’t blue, it’s red. Fire engine red. That repugnant sewer at the foot of the state, NYC, is why the state is blue. You think myself or anyone where we live are going to tolerate being brought into a new, socialist country? I don’t care what a statewide vote with NYC skewing the results looks like. It ain’t gonna happen. Not now, not ever. We won’t stand for it.

      1. None, but the name being floated around is “New Amsterdam”, from what I understand the Dutch were running things in what is now New York once upon a time.

    1. Cities are run by Democrats. The big ones can secede as small satellite states. The rest of the land is ours.

They can have the rules and rulers they want, but they will need to be polite to trade with us.

What do big cities manufacture or produce? Democrats and welfare recipients and the arts and cuisine.

    2. Want to see “antifa” come to an end? 1) Enforce the anti-Klan laws against going masked in public. 2) End riots the old-fashioned way, with firepower.
