So I just want to apologize for the problems with the blog yesterday. It seems I was the target of a Denial of Service attack and was about to fry some servers at the webhost so they shut me down for 5 hours. Either that or the post about what to do if your car was surrounded by a mob was way popular.
Some measures have been taken to avoid the problem from happening again (and they were free so I can’t complain) but there might be still a hiccup during the day when everything gets rocking.
What amazed me is that whomever I pissed of, is using Facebook to launch the attacks. There is a “fault” with a Facebook application that allows a bad person to have a cheap way to DOS websites. Facebook is aware of it and apparently they are Honey Badger about it and won’t fix it. It figures.
Anyway, let’s hope we don’t have to endure the crap anymore and thank you for your patience.
Get your provider to go public along with the other people who have been a victim of facepage’s holier than thou attitude and start beating the drums online about how they won’t fix a known bug. If nothing else, more asshats will start using it which should force them to act.
had it be some abortion clinic or lbgt meet up site that was DDoS’d through facepage; they’d have paid for any lost revenues AND fixed their shit…
Hell, Chandakrata had a tough time understanding the concept of Denial of Service. I am gonna shoot an email to some higher up
