Anybody who knows about how the Chinese train their Olympians knows that this is how China creates all of it’s professional athletes.
The thing to note is how blindsided the NBA was that this would be released. They knew. Of course they knew. The just didn’t think ESPN would say it out loud.
It’s perfectly clear that social justice isn’t about caring about the oppressed.
It’s hard core anti-American Leftism.
Millionaires and billionaires who plan in and own NBA franchises spend so much time criticizing Americans but don’t say a peep about China where they make their money because they are not going to criticize the Chinese Communist Party and risk the loss in income.
These people hate you and are moral cowards.
I want to run for Congress. It’s time that we impose a 99.9% corporate income tax on pro sports and stop protecting their trademarks.
Also, if these people care so much about slavery that they want to take down statues of Washington and Jefferson because they owned slaves, it’s time the government impound all good manufactured by slaves overseas.
Every pair of Nikes and piece of Chinese made NBA merchandise should be seized at the docks and impounded.
We can’t have American companies supporting slavery.
If they want social justice and virtue signaling while siding with the CCP, they should pay for it.
I remember years ago watching a documentary on Chinese Olympic gymnasts.
If a child is selected as an Olympic “hopeful”, they are taken from their parents at around age 4 to live in group housing with other gymnastic “hopefuls”, are “raised” by employees of the government, and train 12-16 hours per day until they’re 16 and can try out for the Olympic team.
As you might imagine, that training schedule doesn’t leave much time for socialization, education, or normal childhood play.
If they make the team, they’re treated as heroes for the rest of their lives — even more so if they earn medals.
If not, they’re effectively tossed out on their asses. Socially awkward, no education (they only know one subject: gymnastics), and their families are as likely as not to reject them as failures. Very few prospects.
But such is the reality under a regime which values the appearance of national pride more than the people who provide it.
But I guess when you have a billion people, you have a bunch of extra eggs to help you get the omelet you like.

Then, China stopped domestic travel from Wuhan to stop the spread of the virus, while fully allowing international travel from the Wuhan Airport.
Chinese Fentanyl, Chinese Labs (many in Wuhan and Hubei) produce hundreds of kilograms of Fentanyl and smuggle it into the US via International Mail, or sell to Mexican Drug Cartels. More Americans die from Opiate Overdoses in the US every year than died in the entire Vietnam War.
Religious Rights and Falun Gong, China has been ruthlessly suppressing their religion. There are well documented cases of prisoners being executed and their organs harvested.
Religious Rights, Genocide, and the Uighurs, China has set up Concentration Camps where the Uighurs are held without charges, beaten, raped, starved. They are reportedly subjected to drug injections that leave men impotent and women without periods.
If the Chinese Communists were White instead of Asian, wouldn’t we be comparing them to Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler?
We would; the left wouldn’t. They’d be proclaiming it the future of all mankind, just as they did in the 1930s.
A lot of influential people were in love with Fascism back in the 30’s, because Nationalist Socialism looked like a great alternative to International Socialism.
Centralized authority, scientific planning of resources, big programs, enforced discipline- what’s not to love for a petty tyrant?
