FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) — Deputies are searching for a pair of armed robbers who used a Bible to get into a home where they held a grandfather and his two grandchildren hostage for almost an hour.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday at a home in the 4900 block of Peters Road.
The victim, who did not want to be identified, said his young grandson opened his door to the men because they were well dressed and one was carrying a Bible.
OK, this is scummy, CSGV-type scummy. The poor Jehovah Witnesses have enough troubles already without people going tactical on their faces because a couple of morons decided to play Robbers of God.
And Grandpa, I am guessing the lessons you failed to impart to your grandson are now firmly implanted in his braincells via really bad experience.
To be fair I’m always armed when talking with the Jehova’s witnesses and always have my leg braced on the door so my first tactic will be to slam and lock the door in the event things go sideways.
Still they have no idea of those plans, and I’m polite, and I LOVE reading the Watchtower. Some of the more goofy spiritual writings and art than can be easily found. (No offense intended to member of any faith…I respect your faith and only ridicule your propaganda)
My wife got scolded once for sending some Witnesses on their way WITHOUT collecting the literature, she has thankfully ONLY made that mistake ONCE.
“she has thankfully ONLY made that mistake ONCE”
You realize we don’t believe that bravado for one second, right?
LOL. I caught crap because I invited the Witnesses in for a comparitive theology discussion.
(And a shout out to the Mormon missionaries. Didn’t convince me of anything, but were nice enough to give me a free copy of the Book of Mormon after I mentioned I really needed to go and BUY a copy to compare to the Koran, various Bible translations, etc., I already had. Polite, not pushy, open handed, and they DIDN’T come back after I said I wasn’t a candidate [ISTR they even offered to get my address flagged on some kind of Do Not Disturb list for the area, so future Mormons wouldn’t bug me] — if you have to come to my door and talk about God, THAT’S the way to do it.)
Two guys dressed as Mormons held up someone at gunpoint in Vegas earlier this week…
[…] Thieves use Bible to gain access to a home. […]
As a former Jehovah’s Witness I can tell you that I have had a couple guns pulled on me at the door along with both naked women and men answering the door as well. I think that I was the only armed JW that I have ever heard of and they kicked me out years ago, they probably should have done it a lot earlier though.
