I just sent this email to our Attorney General

Dear Ms. Bondi.

I guess you have heard by now that Virginia’s Attorney general has decided to break the concealed carry reciprocity agreement between the Commonwealth and our State. Yes, a stupid move that hurts the Citizens of Florida, but nothing much we can do about that.

However, there is one thing we can do (or at least I think we can do) to the self-imposed Executive Overseers of Virginia:

Allow Virginia Residents with a concealed weapons permit to carry in Florida after Feb. 1.

Just because their Attorney general in a politically short-sighted maneuver has told law-abiding concealed carry citizens from half the country they are no longer welcome to his state, we should do the opposite and tell Virginians that they are still welcome to enjoy the Sunshine State.

I thought the days of putting up signs saying “We don’t allow your kind here.” in our nation were long gone, but apparently they have been brought back to life by some petty elected officials. It is our duty to show that we will refuse to play that game by responding in kind.

Hoping you give a serious thought to my proposal.

Yours.

Miguel Gonzalez
Miami, Fl.

OK, at least ONE person in Florida has made the request. We need more and see if we can make it contagious in the other 24 states.

Let’s embarrass the hell out of Virginia’s Attorney General Mark R. Herring and even Governor Terry McAuliffe.

  1. You can blame Bloomberg for this. With the help of his money, the liberals got into office here. However, I do not think the atty general’s order complies with the virginia constitution
Wait until the VCDL and the VSSA get cranking on this!

I have seen several people commenting this, but it will take time in the courts to get it reversed. Why subject good Virginians to the stupidity of their “selected” officials?

  2. Terry “the Tyrant” McAuliffe would only be embarrassed by failing to reward Bloomburg with an attempt to suppress gun rights. Herring is of the same cloth. They give pond scum a good name.

  3. Hey all,

Here’s a link to an online poll in a news article about whether or not you agree with the VA Atty Gen. (I know, I know — it’s just an online poll) — Interestingly, last time I checked it was 97% against the attorney general.

  4. Too true! We denizens of VA are suffering thanks to Bloomberg — he and his minions, plus the small but heavily populated part of Northern Virginia next to Washington, DC, a liberal bastion. We are going to do our best to weather the storm, however.

  5. Miguel, thanks for your support. My wife and I just had our honeymoon down in the gunshine state 2 months ago and we would hate to lose reciprocity there. The VCDL and I aren’t going to let them get this passed without a fight.

  6. Florida has a decent policy in place I think. We accept any state’s resident permit if they accept our permit.

We make our non-resident permit super easy to get.

We’re not banning anyone from Virginia, just letting them spend their permit money here, where it does us some good, rather than at home where it’s worthless.
