Trayvon was only 17 years old when he was followed and killed by a stranger who believed he looked threatening. He was visiting with his father, walking home from the store, unarmed. He had just a packet of candy and a can of iced tea. This person killed my son for simply walking through his own neighborhood. He claimed that he was acting in self-defense, though Trayvon never approached him and he pursued my son before attacking him.
Our state’s laws allowed him to claim he was standing his ground, and it took the public crying out for police to even make an arrest.

The lie that will never die courtesy of the Fake Media. Miami-Dade County Division.
One more time: Your son’s timely demise was self-defense because he was attacking George Zimmerman. You could not teach the kid any better, he became a thug, he died like one.
End of Story.
The Herald got a pretty good spanking in the comments.
The Herald hates SYG with passion and can’t abide that the majority of Floridians like the law and does not want it screwed with.
The other thing is that people in Miami-Dade County (and specially his birth city of Miami Gardens) never gave a shit about Trayvon…mostly because they knew he was a thug. The Narrative will not accept deviations.
In 1981 I was in Miami on an investigation. The Miami News, the now-defunct (I think) afternoon counterpart of the Herald, carried a headline that caught my eye, so I stuck a hard-earned quarter into the kiosk and bought a copy to read the story. The story was this:
An urban youth was driving around at night looking for someone to rob. He saw a car pull into a driveway and a couple get out. He pulled in behind them, jumped out of his car, pulled a gun, and announced a robbery. The male robbery victim pulled a two-inch .38 and gut-shot the robber; the bullet severed his spinal cord. In other words, Good Guys 1, Bad Guys 0.
The headline that caught my eye? “High School Wrestling Star Shot, Paralyzed.”
I see Miami journalism hasn’t changed much.
How many lies did she pack in to that crafted statement? I’m sure she did not think it up since it sounds just like gun control speak.
TM jumped him and pounded his head into concrete. That is the truth. So, he was effectively armed and TM initiated the assault.
The candy, the iced tea, the walk thru the neighborhood are irrelevant and do not grant innocence. SYG was not at work here.
Given she raised a thug it is not a stretch that she lies or is as dumb as dirt. Scum.
Yes, George Zimmerman did follow Trayvon Martin. But it was because he was acting in a very suspicious manner. Zimmerman lost Martin, and Martin actually made it back to his father’s house, where he called a friend and told her that he was going back to “find that cracker and beat his ass”. As Zimmerman gave up his search for Martin, Martin ambushed Zimmerman, knocked him to the pavement and started slamming Zimmerman’s head into the concrete pavement. Several witnesses stated this and their stories matched, plus Zimmerman had wounds that supported this. Zimmerman pulled his pistol from his pocket and fired once into Martin’s body, which killed him. This was a clear cut case of self defense and SYG didn’t come into play, because short of throwing Martin off of him, Zimmerman couldn’t have retreated.
