These ties made out of rebar were constructed by some members of the group who gathered outside of East Precinct tonight. The ties were meant to pop police vehicle tires. Several of the ties were thrown in the street and police vehicles ran them over, causing damage to tires. pic.twitter.com/hxkvpYVMvO

The Toyos are quite popular on a number of the lifted Super Duties and other HD trucks around here.
Yeah… big truck tires aren’t cheap. I’m running on stock rims, but a lot of the lifted guys run aftermarket rims which double the price (or more).
I expect that just like how Antifa started using the green lasers as a blinding weapon against law enforcement, then quickly turned them on regular citizens, I expect that these caltrops are very quickly going to be used as part of the road blocking tactics used on citizen motorists to keep them from driving through protesters.
When that happens and some guy in his lifted F-250 has $3,000 in tires and rims ruined by some Antifa caltrops, you know what is going to happen?
The guys that killed John Wick’s puppy got off easier, I can guarantee it.
And then there is the problem that even though the tires may have been deflated, the vehicle can still move forward. We have seen enough chases in COPS to know that cars without tires can go miles and miles.
Getting hit and run over is always bad, but I can imagine being run over by rims would be even worse.
The Twitter comments all talk about this being acceptable in order to stop cops and civilians from “running into crowds”.
The other scream was that this was justified because the cops (only one dude in black tactical gear) slashed the tires of a van.
Does anybody have the context of the van tires being slashed?
Time to hang big powerful magnet on the front of the truck…. or better yet, stay the bleep outta the places these morons are. Im sure we will see a buncha them stepping on caltrops during the “peaceful” protests. Roofing nails work good too for foot traffic, hint hint, wink wink.
Is it to the point yet where people just go “South Korean” and take to the roof tops and begin harvesting rioters?

Last night a firework similar to the ones that protesters have been lobbing at police for months went off in the midst of some of the protesters. No reported injuries.
Immediate reaction from the protesters : “Fascists tried to murder us with pipe bombs! Look at this cardboard tube we found!”
